When you register with this forum, an activation email is sent. This email has a link you must click or visit before you will be able to post messages. This is to confirm that you are a real person. You might also have to activate your account after changing your email address.

There are generally two common reasons why you may not get the activation email.

The most obvious reason is that you put in a bad email address. You should verify that you entered a valid email address.

Secondly, public mail programs such as yahoo, hotmail, and others have a tendency to move emails from Web sites into the bulk mail/spam folder. To help prevent this from happening, you should create a contact for webmaster@CodeGuru.com. If you used an email address from one of the public systems, you should check the spam/bulk mail folder for the activation message.

If you find that neither of these reasons are valid for you, then you should check filtering on your mail server (or with your ISP's mail server) to verify that it is not filtering @CodeGuru.com mail.

Titles are determined by the number of posts you have made to the forums. The following shows the given titles:

Junior Member	0 to 24 posts
Member	25 to 511 posts
Member+	512 to 1023 posts
Senior Member	1024 to 2047 posts
Elite Member	2048 to 4095 posts

At 4096 and above you can set your own custom title. Such title must follow the acceptable usage rules of the forum.

Why mark your thread resolved?

When you are browsing the forums it becomes useful to know which threads have open questions and which ones have been satisfactorily answered. This saves us all time when deciding which threads to post in. Hence, it is the forum custom to mark your thread resolved.



How do I do it?

To mark your thread as resolved, find the Thread Tools link on the bar above the first post. Click on and a menu will drop down showing you some options. From these choose "Mark Thread Resolved" which is the bottom-most option.



This will change the thread icon to the green tick mark and prepend the [RESOLVED] text to the thread title.

There are two recommended ways to find your posts.

The best way is to go to a post you've made and click on your name. This will display a menu of options:



You can select Find more posts by xxxx where xxxx is the user name you clicked on (your user name in this case).

The second way to find posts you've made is to use the search feature and enter your user name as the search criteria.

Note: There may be a limit on the number of posts displayed (usually 500).
