How can I export a particular branch of the registry to a text file??

The easiest way is to Export to a file using regedit do this :
add a command button to a form

Private Sub Command1_Click()
Dim RegCmd As String

RegCmd = "regedit /E C:\output.txt HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft"
Shell RegCmd, vbMinimizedFocus
End Sub

This will create a C:\output.txt file (should be a .reg) it's a exported segment of the registry.
