How to create a recordset with sql select where clause containing a variable in Visual Interdev

I need help in creating a recordset in visual interdev that is made via a sql statement that contains a variable. And then binding a DTC grid to it. I don't know how to do this. I wld appreciate any suggestions/solutions.
