How they locked tables!!

Hi,

I downloaded one .mde file and its related .mdb file from one of our MsAccess Developer.

I opened .mde file and found a lock symbol before every table name.

I wonder how they locked the table from editing.

Could anyone please help me out in understanding how to lock/unlock a table in .mde/.mdb file.

I am not sure about this, but...have you tried setting the .mde or .mdb file attribute? (right click on the file and see if it is readonly...)

I'm not sure how you would go about locking tables in Access (maybe through the security features?), but I do know that any changes need to be made in the mdb file and then saved to a new mde file.
