Problems accessing SQL database
Hi all,
I'm trying to read data from an SQL database (the database is the one created by Microsoft WUS)
I have got the code in vb.net to connect but I can't seem to login properly..
I receive the error: "SQL server does not exist or access denied"
I've read numerous posts for setting an "sa" password, but it seems there is already one set and I don't know what it is!
Because WUS is interfaced via a webpage am I right in guessing there would be a guest type account ? because I don't actually need to write anything to the database, only read.. so that would be ideal.
Does anyone have any ideas
Thanks
Re: Problems accessing SQL database
You need a valid password for the database!
There are companies whicxh will "break into" databases provided you submit legal documentation [results will vary and are basically 0% is highly envrypted]. Be prepared to spend $10,000++.
This should not apply since the DB you mention appears to come from a known source so the password should be able to be found out [ at least for the original version]]
Re: Problems accessing SQL database
Thanks for your reply, I think I will have to try and find out if WUS can be loaded onto an exsisting SQL server.. then I can set the password myself.
Bit of a hassle, but I wouldn't know where to start in trying to get the default password.
