Please can you tell me, how exactly I can derive my custom class from XmlElement for addind some methods.

I get the error:
XmlElement is inaccessible due to its protection level.

You can't. An XmlElement is meant to be created by an XmlDocument - and only by an XmlDocument - so it's constructor is declared internal meaning you can't derive from it.
