notification type defaults

My "Notification Type" is set to "Do not subscribe" by default. How can I set that to "Instant email notification" by default?

Maybe it's another registration bug, but I thought I already set that when I registered.

EDIT: It is a bug, I think. In your registration form it asks, "Receive e-mails when comments are added to your articles", to which I enabled. Shouldn't this enable some form of email notification? Mine was set to, "Do not subscribe."
