The first two yes, they are wonderful :D. And the third? Doom3? **** no, it took me 6-8 hours to get through. The gameplay itself was horrible and boring, it wasn't shocking at all. Only the graphics where nice to see. Quake4 is everything Doom3 supposed to be...
Re: New Movie Releases #1
I thought I'd mention some interesting movies that are not yet out....
(dates are for US)
Zathura - Nov 11th -
Special effects should be cool. Follow up to Jumanji.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - Nov 18th
Yeah these movies are getting old, but we'll go see this one too....
Aeon Flux - Nov 29th
It's Sci Fi, and there is never enough of that in the theaters....
It had a production budget of $55 million, which is enough to make a good movie on a budget.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Dec 9th
I predict this to be the movie of the year to see. The previews are great looking and the story is a classic.
Underworld: Evolution Jan 20th (2006)
Underworld was okay at the "dollar theater". This should be "okay" too.
The Pink Panther Feb 10th
Okay, the original was funny in its day. This one has potential to also be funny....
Mission Impossible 3 May 5
Yeah, Tom Cruise is part of a cult, but his movies are pretty good even if he has gone a bit pyscho.
Poseidon (formerly Poseidon Adventure) May 12
Another classic being remade. With today's special effects, this should be cool.
The Da Vinci Code May 19
I've wanted to read the book since "everyone" else has. Now I'll just wait for the movie <G>.
XMen 3 May 29th
More Captain Picard, err Xavier! The last movie was pretty good, so this one will hopefully be even better!
Superman Returns June 30th
Heeeeee's baaaccck!
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest July 7th 2006
The first movie is one of my favorites of all time.....
---
Fantastic 4 2 - Not until July 4th, 2007
There are a lot of other fun, interesting movies too!
Brad!
Re: New Movie Releases #1
About DOOM, this movie not bad, but not increadeble, about 3 points (in 5 points grade), all others I have not seeing yet. :D
Re: New Movie Releases #1
Doom isn't doing very good. It was number one its first week-end, but it was the worst box-office week-end in a long time. It dropped to 7th place its second week-end with only $4.2 million dollars brining its total to around $23 million. With that level of fall, it will be a stretch to make back the $60 millioni it cost to produce, let alone the adveritsing and other costs.....
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Saw II blew away the box office being number one last week-end with $31 million. Not bad (okay, pretty darn fantastic) for a movie that cost $4 million to produce :) It did almost double what The Legend of Zorro did ($16 million). Zorro, cost a tad more though at about $75 million....
Wallace and Gromit: The Curse continue to do a good showing. It is still in fith place after four weeks. That's better than Doom (7th) did in its second week :)
Flight plan holds strong too in 10th place last week-end Its 2.7 million took its total over $80 million.
But alas, I have no time to see any of the movies right now..... :(
<< Doom needs to do a bit better so that the don't cut budgets on the Halo movie :D >>

Well, you're definitelly not a fan. :D The book was kinda big (about 650 pages) so I'm looking for to see how accurate the movie will be.

I don't expect too much from this movie, but Charlize looks sexy with guns. :D

The book was awful. I didn't even eat, nor I went to sleep until I finished it. I love these kind of topics, but the end made me feel sorry for reading it. I have decided never ever to read a bood from Dan Brown again. I'm still wondering if I want to see the movie. And guess what: it has already been pirated. There is a DVD-rip copy available in Timisoara. ;)
I've just seen Cindarella Man. I know it's been some time since it was released in US, but in Romania it only happened last week. A great movie again from Russell Crowe. I don't know how this guy does it, but he plays only Academy awarded movies: LA Confidential, The Insider, Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, Master and Commander and now this. I'm sure it will win at least one Oscar. Crowe deserves at least a nomination himself.

Re: New Movie Releases #1
Ah, I've read that one or two weeks ago, Iran has prohibited the distribution and broadcasting of foreign movies, especially American. So I suppose piracy should be booming there.

Re: New Movie Releases #1
I should mention the movie "Everything is Illuminated". Seems to me like it will be good stuff... That and it's not the stereotypical hollywoodish stuff that you see every time on the silver screen.

The second book is out now too. I've got it, but haven't had time to read it.
