Visual Studio 6 SP4
Does anybody know where I can get hold of this ?
I have a problem where my work PC has had SP2 ,3 ,4 ,5 upgraded in the past and some controls are still registered as SP4, My Home PC has only had SP5 installed.
When I go into certain forms or Datareports which use the SP4 control it seems I'm getting a Visual Studio Unexplained Error has occured, so I'm thinking I need to Install SP4 and then re-install SP5 but the Microsoft website no longer hosts this and work no longer have the CDs either.
Can anybody help ?
Cheers Guys

Re: Visual Studio 6 SP4
Download SP6. It has great fixes in it. Still available from Microsoft.

Re: Visual Studio 6 SP4
Hi David,
That won't resolve the problem of still having some components on work machine registered as SP4 which will not work on home PC where they are less than SP4. SP6 does not upgrade all the componets / OCX's to SP6....
Cheers

Re: Visual Studio 6 SP4
Hi Hannes, hows it going M8, have you tried the VB.Net 2005 yet ??
Unfortunately, I've been trying that website for the last couple of days, when you click the download icon, just says the download is currently not available, I think is probably a link to the MSDN site which keeps appearing in google lookup which is no longer there.....
You wouldhave thought SP4 would still be around somewhere....

Re: Visual Studio 6 SP4
Hi Ken!
Sorry about that link bud, I thought it would have worked. I have searched and searched for the Service Pack 4, to no avail:cry: other than the above link I posted.
I did find something interesting though, on Microsoft's site.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q235420/
It might be worth a shot..
PS: VS 2005 - no, and to be honest, I don't want to..
I really hope this helps

Re: Visual Studio 6 SP4
I don't know if it's legal to post it, but I'm certain I have my original SP4 zip someplace. Seems to me though that *most* programs shouldn't be effected by installing a service pack, aside from maybe bug fixes. Yeah I know, look what SP2 did to xp  , but that I'd hope is different than a VB service pack.
<EDIT>
Oh, look! The page HanneSThEGreaT linked to has the SP4 download.
