Problem with VB EXE client

I have an COM dll server which fires an event.This COM dll server has another thread.This secondary thread fires an event.I have written a client in VB.The VB is able to catch an event if it is running in interpretor mode i.e Run->Start.I am getting memory could not be read error if i try to run client exe.
