I was just wondering how much should a person drink per day? Is 8 glasses of water enough to avoid dehydration.

Errrmmm.. 8 is about normal.. however it all depends on the person, the temperature, etc..
Check out this H2O calculator to find out how much water you need to drink a day
For myself it says 7 glases are enough...
You get alot of water from the food as well so a recommendation can only be approximative. I would say that the risk of being dehydrated when living in a modern society is pretty low. If pee is very dark drink some water, if pee is very light drink less (unless drinking beer... ;))

It is not necessary to strictly follow the 8-glasses guideline. It varies depending on our physical activities, weather and diet. Our body is an excellent system telling us if have drunk enough water. Just drink whenever feeling a little thirsty but not until very thirsty.
Have to post what my grandmother (over 100+ years old) told to me 40+ years ago)
8 ounces of Water (with one capful of vinegar) eight times per day. for flavor, add a bit of honey. did a few years of honey-vinegar-water before I switched to Coke! :)
Wow for me, it said 32 glasses. :DQuote:

Note also that with every glass vodka you will automatically "drink" 0.6 glass water.
And with every glass beer - about 0.95 glass water! :D
Just don't drink any oranjeboom, else you'll wake up with a horrible headache.
By this logic I'm sure i'll ge my daily water from ~ 12 Dbl Jacks and Coke..Quote:

On vacation, i.e. getting the requested amount of "water" everyday. :)
(Well, have to admit it comes with a lot of carpinting & painting work as well...)
sounds like you're having fun at least!Quote:
carpinting & painting
It's fun, amazing how some paint can do that difference. My "office" body complains though... didn't even know that there were any muscles in some places of the body that now aches. They're adapting fast though so now there is :)
