GetRecordCount(): do we need to navigate!

I have seen the help but its not clear. From the help its seems as if to give correct value only if we have naviage through all records. But I am not navigating thourgh records, and getting correct value.

RecordSet.Open();
Count = RecordSet.GetRecordCount();
RecordSet.Close();

Any comments on this are welcomed

I find out that we do have to navigate through all records in dao if we want the correct value. Actually I was getting the correct value because in my case the filtered table always contain one record, and GetRecordCount() gave the result one because I was always on the first record!
