ATL HTML control & IE 5.0

I created ATL HTML control in visual c++, but it is not work with IE 5.0
In following script, OnClick method call fail.
window.external.OnClick(.... )
I didn't change the source which is created by visual c++ 6.0.

Please, explain why?
