Do anyone know this program?
Hello, all!
I recently downloaded this program. I haven't installed it yet.
I'm not sure what it exactly does. Something like checking your C++ source code for errors.
But I'm not sure if it contains a virus or is a dangerous software.
That's why I wanna hear if anyone of you are familair with this program.
Here's their page: http://www.imagix.com/
And this is the program: http://www.imagix.com/download/produ...0/imgx_win.exe
Thanks, alot!

ps. If you know any better program than this or another program you like. Post here so I can get started :)
Re: Do anyone know this program?
Scan it yourself, if you don't trust them.
ps. i doubt they'd post an infected file for download...
Re: Do anyone know this program?
You never know. I scanned it with Norton Anti Virus 2k7.
Clean. But I don't trust such an old version :(
Re: Do anyone know this program?
Avira didn't find anything but if you're really paranoid try some online scanners as well.

It's not the version of the software that matters, but that of the virus definitions.

You could just use lint...

Yes. The library that anti-virus software reads through to actually detect viruses.
Re: Do anyone know this program?
I just realised something... how do anti-virus software use the definitions to detect viruses or trojans or whatever? I mean obviously the software doesn't search the file names because the user could easily rename files right. So what exactly does the software search?

One way is to match the "signature" of a given virus, i.e., match file content with some (executable) code known to be inserted by the virus. You probably should just search the Web concerning how antivirus software work.

You may try Kaspersky free online virus scanner is a great way to find out if you have any viruses or spyware on your machine without having to install new software.
Re: Do anyone know this program?
Just a bit of information everyone might already know that site has IT Technicians guard 24/24 on the server, so feel free to scan your computer's each folder as well as hidden folders/files for the viruses.
Many people hate my professor because she can sing, I hope no one would hate me because I have a big mouth.
What did you scan last night ? Amazing! :)
