Noob Question - Basic Program!!!

Hi All

I’m not a programmer by any means - All I know is batch file "programming/scripting"

So here is where I need ALOT of help and advice.....

I have VB 2010 express. I would like to make a basic program that copies a file or directory from one place to another (source to destination)

For example:
I would normally use a batch file that would look like this......

Very simple

I would like to have a browse button for the source and destination so I can tell the program what file/directory to copy and were and maybe link a progress bar to it to make it look FANCY:bigyello:

PS - my level of know how when it comes to Visual Basic is pushing the debug button

Probably need to start with an easier project, like "Hello World" to get used to the language and interface

I'd agree with Mur16 assuming that you're trying to learn the language. If you really need to solve this issue is there any particular reason for .NET?

The statement to copy a file is System.IO.File.Copy .....

Well, this can also be pretty basic. I use this type of question for my students as well. Learning how to use the controls upfront is very essential. :)

You could also make use of the FolderBrowserDialog to browse for folders :
