Is there any relation between Python and Hadoop?

I want enhance my python programming skills. I want to know that what actually is the role of python programming with Hadoop.

Surely you have searched the Web and found some information. What have you found out and what would you like to clarify?

I am thinking to learn Hadoop. And I already know Python. Will this my python skills helps me to learn hadoop?

Hadoop is more Java oriented, methinks. However, your general programming skills would help, and then there apparently are Python frameworks for Hadoop.
