Saving Files In SQL Server
Hi,
Does anyone know how to save files in a table in SQL SERVER 6.5 or 7.
Basically at the moment all I do is save file paths but my client has requested that the actual file be saved and I haven't a clue how to do that.
The files are all Word or Excel
Cheers.
Tony
Re: Saving Files In SQL Server
you can use the text or image data type in your SQL server table.
You can then use the BCP utility to load your files into these columns.

Cheers for the swift reply Lothar,
I don't know how to use the BCP utility.
Do you have an example of how this might be accomplished in VB (an SQL statement etc). Is this even possible?
Thanks

Not sure if this will come in handy but you might want to check out this nifty BCP OCX I found while I was importing data into SQL Server 6.5. Works like a champ without the messy code!:-)
