the eternal conflict between good and evil
The eternal battle between good and evil at Hollywood draws near to a premiere. For the first time in history the evil wins.
The opening is on May 19, world-wide.
George Lucas promised 3 years ago that the battle between Anakin\Vader and Obi-Wan will be the greatest in the history of cinema. So I have great expectations from him.
Please feel free to share all your thoughts about SWIII ROTS (Star Wars Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith).
Remember, there are 32 days left.
May the dark side of the Force be with you!

Re: the eternal conflict between good and evil
Instead Lucas will have MacGuyver armed with a spork fighting to the death with Darth.

Everyone'll be talking about Hitchhiker by then. StarWars will be overshadowed. Those Brits can really do a number on you, and with good timing too!

The first time the evil wins??! what the ...? I thought William MacWallace in Braveheart also dies - and he is the good one?!

Well, that depends from which side you look at it. For Edward Long Leggs and 14th century England he was the bad guy.
On the other hand he was a read character, so I don't think that the screen players from Hollywoods could have changed he's end. Star Wars is, apparently, pure fiction. I said apparently, because these events actually took place a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. ;)

Re: the eternal conflict between good and evil
Well, isn't Anakin the good guy and Obi Wan the bad guy anyways? I mean who in their right wants to stop their friends taking over empires?
-
Re: the eternal conflict between good and evil
Again, it depends from which perspective are you looking at it.
Which one do you prefer: the republic or the empire? I prefer the empire.
-
Re: the eternal conflict between good and evil
Turn back to the good side you must, hmmmm?

Re: the eternal conflict between good and evil
This is the synopsis of ROTS.
The galaxy is weary after three long years of war. Anakin Skywalker and obi-Wan Kenobi have become legendary heros in their campaing against the droid forces of the evil General Grievous. For this reason, the Jedi Council assigns Obi-Wan an important mission: capture the leader of the Separatists, General Grievous. This task takes Obi-Wan far from Anakin, when the young Jedi Knight could use his master's guidance the most.
Anakin and his secret wife, Padme Amidala, have been separated for months, and he finally reunites with her to learn that she is pregnant. He is plagued by visions of her dying in childbirth, haunting images of a possible future. Anakin is determined to stop her from dying, no matter the cost. This leads Anakin down to a dark path to commit terrible deeds.
Obi-Wan Kenobi must face his former apprentice in a ferocious lightsaber duel on the fiery world of Mustafar.

WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING?!! There is no way ANYTHING can overshadow Star Wars. I mean... wow... DUHHH! :)
In the end Anakin/Vader has Luke (good guy) and turns good and kills Emperor Palpatine sooo... he's good. Misguided and then good.

Re: the eternal conflict between good and evil
Now you need only to write online game about StarWars and C programing
For example you may change fighting with laser swords to writing some C++ code :D

Re: the eternal conflict between good and evil
I'm puzzled by this issue: in A New Hope, C-3PO does not know who Obi-Wan was. It was built by Anakin, Obi-Was padawan and best friend. R2-D2 had a long history with Obi-Wan and these two robots spent a lot of time together. In The Attack of the Clones R2-D2 and C-3PO fly with Anakin and Padme to the rescue of Obi-Wan held prisoner by Count Duku. How could he never heard of Obi-Wan?!! After being beheaded he is sent in the arena where Anakin, Padme and Obi-Wan just freed themselves from chains and killed the beasts. How could he never heard of Obi-Wan. Did someone erase his memory?

We replace E with an O (for "Ost(e)n" to meet all Austrian fellows, because those are the minority in the world. And we have to protect minorities!

Yeah, I remember. There was an exchange of provinces between Pompeius Magnus and Burebista: the Austro-Hugary for Iberia.
/may Kamehameha be with you!

Please elaborate how this has to do with the eternal conflict between good and evil.

Well, Burebista was good enough to be killed by his friends, Pompei was evil enough to be killed by his enemies.

I always figured it was a don't ask don't tell kind of a thing. But I don't remember if C-3PO or R2D2 were ever asked if they knew Anakin/Darth Vader or Obi Wan... and Obi is old in the last three so maybe they didn't recognize him? I've always wondered this myself.

No, no... R2-D2 knows Obi-Wan. That's why Leia had entrusted him with the Death Star plans when he was sent to Tatooine to find Obi-Wan. But C-3PO did not. When they were bought by Lars and Luke, C-3PO clearly told Luke they are looking for someone called Obi-Wan Kenobi, though he doesn't know who that is.
Now, there is another thing. In The Empire Strickes Back, when Luke leaves Yoda to go to Bespine to help Leia and Han, Yoda tells Obi-Wan that he is not their last hope, as Obi-Wan said, because there is another one. So this means that they didn't know Padme and Anakin had twins, or at least Obi-Wan didn't. I'm currious to see how ROTS will cover this part.
And if I remember correctly in The Return of the Jedi (I'll tell you exactly next week when I'll see it again) Leia tells Luke that she didn't know her mother well because she died when she was very little. That means Padme survived the childbirth. Anakin falls to the dark side for the love of Padme. He has visions of her dying in childbirth and wants to save her. I'm currious if he succeeds. I really don't know this part... If he doesn't and she dies giving birth to the twins then there is another inconsitancy with the first episodes.
