Guys......today, I read about this article in a magazine and it's about a male aged 16 years old to 25 years old living in Philadephia, USA. Guess what? It's about him getting involved in a train accident with 500 other cute high-school cheerleader teenage gurls!

The train was about to explode when this guy became a real man and actually risk his darn noble life to save these maidens in distress! He actually calmly opened up his laptop running Windows XP and fire up Visual C++, and coded a program to defuse and neutralise the explosion!

The news even says that when this guy got outta the train, the skies were somewhat of a different color and feeling as usual : it's more of like a heavenly blue unseen anywhere in the human world, and the sweet scent of strange flowers could be smelt.

Most incredible of all, folks who stood near him at that time actually sweared that they were standing next to King Arthur, the legendary great king of the Round Table in the high and gallant past.
Others have said that the spirit of the greatest USA president, Abraham Lincoln, lies in him!

I've just e-mailed CNN and BBC, and after much relutance, they said this guy was SolarFlare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Crazy! I couldn't believe it myself, but after observing each of Solar's posts closely, I realised that this is true!

It has been said that a person reveals his true character even in the slightest thing he does, and that's Solar!
Now I understand why I feel so timid in his presence and posts, and why no one actually dared to argue with this overlord.

I started programming when I was 9 (not kidding). The first "usable" program I wrote was somewhere around the age of 10, writing a horse-race betting game in Omicron Basic, on my Atari 1024 ST.
I wanted to go and study for programmer when I was 12 (before that I was going to be a jetfighter-pilot, you know, TOP GUN), but because the Belgian education system doesn't offer such course at that age, I had to wait until I was 16. Then I took a 2-year course in programming. When I was 18, and graduated, I started working immediatly. Currently, I'm 21 and a professional programmer for the last 3 years.

Oh yeah, Brad, I've worked with punshcards before, in a (slightly antique) AS/400 environment. Does that make me 20 years older?

OK, I suspect one member to have an age of 13 (no kidding) while being member of codeguru since 1999, meaning he joined Codeguru at age 10.

I think we need to define what a guru is, then. Originally from this thread I had assumed it meant "anybody who is a registered user of this site," but it could also mean something like "anybody who has had x years of experience doing whatever."

Yes. There's a difference between CodeGuru and Guru.
I would say proudly I'm a darn cool and loyal and great and noble Codeguru, but I would never say I'm a Guru, cos' my programming sucks.
A Guru is someone who knows what he's doing.
Famous gurus include Jeff Prosise and John Robbins. They know what is going on inside the MFC libraries etc.
Other gurus include Gabriel Fleseriu, Yves M, BillWilson03 and lots more.
In fact, anyone who knows exactly what's he doing without using them blindly and anyone who can handle advance programming problems is a guru.
