So in short, you drew it. That's all Im asking. Thanks for answering, buster! :lol:Quote:

From Cherish:
Indeed, and I'll tell you the names of those guys who don't like such jokes : The Overall Site Manager of CodeGuru and his brood of moderators and Super Moderators. :DQuote:
Its not because im slightly scared of offending you. Its just that I want to make sure you do get that I was just kidding. Some guys don't like those kinds of jokes you see.
And no, I can take all kinds of jokes, don't worry. I'm used to being nonchalant all my life and not much can make me mad, except when I see little kids being tortured/physically abused for nothing. In such cases, I won't go mad. I'll erase their life off this world. :thumbd:
By the way, Cherish, what kind of programming do u specialize in? It's Visual C++ or VB, right? I doubt it web programming like PHP, or you won't be posting in a mainly-Windows-programming forum like CodeGuru here.
From Ree:
U fool. I was saying that you cannot create professional-looking and complicated artwork using just basic Flash vector shapes and whatever provided with the program itself. Remember those pics of King of Fighters' characters(Vanessa etc.)? Those are done with pencil and artwork, not the Rectangle or Pencil tool in Flash. Instead, you'll need a digital pen and pad to map the drawing to the screen.Quote:
yeah!...I still don't get it ...you said 'basic shapes' earlier which usually means rectangle, circles, polygons etc...and I said the basic shapes will be merrier with layers and masking to form a glossy 3D looks...
but now, you're ranting about scanning pictures
Sounds very godly, doesn't it, guys? Until you folks realize that entirely Flash-based sites are almost impossible to be indexed by search engines(main source of web traffic). Even if they do, they won't rank anywhere near the first 30 pages of the search results.Quote:
nothing's more inspiring than working with human senses...eyes, ears, insanity...Flash can deal with those...
compare the HTML webpage with Flash webpage(either just as a front-end or mainly Flash)...you'll bang your head on your keyboard to see the hideous HTML webpage
And thus......YOU CAN ****ing have the most godly Flash site in the world and if no one knows it, what's the use, then?
Add to that, those folks who don't want to spend time to load the Flash site, those folks who've a fetish for, or using older browsers for whatever reason, and those folks who don't have or don't wish to spend time downloading the troublesome Flash plug-in.......you get the sheet now, eh?
Nah, I don't like those small mirrors, because they're not accurate enough to preview your hair in. The best are those big flat mirrors with 50% sunlight shining at you. That'll give the most accurate preview of your hair while you're styling it. Browser compatibility, eh?Quote:
hey, Xeon!...are you bring a small mirror in your wallet too?
So, in short, you drew it. Now, I'm a real man with real guts, and if a rival is great in some respect, I'll salute him and forgo all my ego or whatever pride.Quote:
the truth is, I draw it but the pencil and the paper is not mine....I just grab my friend's pencil and tear down his paper without his permission....the scanner is also not mine...so, it's not fully mine
That picture is MAGNIFICIENT!!!!
If you can draw something like the following and convert it to .gif or vector format, you would be a Flash lord already :
http://ic1.deviantart.com/fs9/i/2006...Arehandora.jpg
When that happens, I've nothing to say and I'll bow and salute to you with honor, but that doesn't mean or say anything that PHP and web programming can't gain parallel achievements(either in fame, money or influence) either. All in all, your artwork rules.
From D. Lenna:
My, another girl here? I think this Lenna is also a girl. Good. Maybe you gotta send her a PM to invite her here to match hers with Ree.Quote:
I can't reach Oceanebelle, from VBF. I think shed has the knack for drawing, but won't post without her permission. You could search VBF for her posts to find them, but I think they're good.
When Ree and Belle marry each other, the husband can do the Flash part while the wife can provide the graphics needed as input.
That's all; see you, folks!
Xeon.
I'm David Glienna, and have chatted with Oceanbelle for about a year, since she joined VBF. She also thought that I was female, for some reason.
From David:
Aye! U should have said so earlier! I was even thinking of spiking your drink, dragging you into a hotel bedroom, go easy on my zipper and down with my pants and......:ehh:Quote:

Yes, indeed. The Lenna part make your name sounds feminine. However, if it's Gilenna Davids, I would have insisted you were a girl no matter what.
A cool name for you would be : Dave-G. WOW! :thumb:;):D
Good day,
Xeon.
I see. So I guess you now understand I put those words, not mainly for your sake, but for others who might happen to read my post. This is a public forum, and I put those in consideration of other people's sense of humor. :thumb: ;)Quote:

Its because the people here are nice and were really helpful with my questions back then. I thought of returning the favor by helping in the PHP forum, even in a smalll way. :D
so, basically, you're ranting and yaming about pictures...in that way, you're right;)...Quote:

so now, go get a strong coffee and start make one...but keep both of your hands on the keyboard:D...I know they're sexy but they're just a basic shape...:p
do you have your coffee now?...bcoz this will gonna be a long junx:D...Quote:

these things have a couple of issues to deal with...be smart and hark...
a) know and identify your prey: even the savage beasts know this one...you can't go out there and start chasing your prey...that's a foolish strategy...if your prey are anthelopes, give them a beautiful rich meadows...if they're bees, get a garden of flowers...and trust me, they'll tell their whole entire clans and flock to your trap...basically, it means..one knows, all know..
b) identify and equip your azz: as a preadator, you must be strong and sharp...strenghten your content...and be smart...if you're a spider, just use Flash as a front-end (or as ActiveX controller) so that they can easily be trapped when they stumble upon your web while they're googling for food....IOW, Flash can strenghten your web and they can't escape from it..
but if you're insect-eating plant, you can use mainly Flash-based sites...you do not find them, they'll find you...usually, a well-known company can use this strategy...if your rival plants got a nicer impression, don't be jealous if the prey don't come to you...
c) lure them: do you know a fish that has a cute tentackle to lure their preys to come to them?...if that hideous fish can figure this out, why can't you?...advertise yourself!!...and be more advance than the fish!...if they come to you but find out you're so scary even to look at, they'll turn away before they're in your capturing range...empty belly you'll be..
take out your brain and put more thought into it, dude:D...
all you need to know is, 80-95% of web browsers have Flash players and willing to use it...that's a big number if you tell me...that's all you need to know:p...after that, it's all depend on you to hunt them:D...they have the cups and you have the drinks...satisfy their thirst...if they love it, they'll ask for more...Quote:

so you're into manga drawing, eh?...I tell you what...manga/anime can be easily created...it's simple as DEF...Draw, Encode and Filter...I can show you the trick if you want;):DQuote:
If you can draw something like the following and convert it to .gif or vector format,..
From Cherish:
But if you're gonna live like this, under others' shadows all the time, won't it be so uncomfy? U should stick to yourself and don't mind others. Unless, of course, in special situations, like when you're sitting next to a bunch of Las Vegas gangsters/Russian mafia.....then you gotta behave yourself. ;)Quote:
see. So I guess you now understand I put those words, not mainly for your sake, but for others who might happen to read my post. This is a public forum, and I put those in consideration of other people's sense of humor.
Smart girl, wise choice. I tell ye : Those who're still on the VC++ road other than Microsoft's own programmers are heading down the road to Helheim, the Norse land of the dead.Quote:
Well, I came to this site because I had a VC++ project last year, and I needed some help. But that was the first and last VC++ project I had,
Why, Cherish, I'm so happy when you say that. I ♥ you!Quote:
So yeah, I do specialize in Web Programming.
Now, seriously, though.........it's only logical. Because from what I know thus far, most female programmers are into web programming. If you go to HtmlForums.com, you'll see that there's more females there in a single forum than all the females in CodeGuru combined together. :D
So, how long did you take to learn PHP to get to where you're today?
From Ree:
Nah! If I were any good at that and earning big bucks, I would be so occupied using my personal waterhose with girls already. :DQuote:
so you're into manga drawing, eh?
U're even more of a total fool than I thought. Why not just be a freelance manga/cartoon artist? Just invest in a digital pen and your talents and setting up a little portfolio, and you're on your way to finding clients and earning $$$ and using your own personal waterhose with girls already.Quote:

A small manga/cartoon/logo image can easily fetch for around US$150 each.
See you all!
Xeon.
Hmmm. Roughly 3 months (max)? I'm not really sure. :D Basically, when I started working for the present company I'm working for, I had to handle PHP stuff right away. PHP is quite easy to learn. And tinkering with it and MySQL is what really got me to where I am today. ;)Quote:

From Cherish:
Yeah, PHP syntax and concept is easy to learn, but what about the networking concepts and installing PHP? From what I know, learning how to install and configure PHP is a pretty big topic in itself!Quote:

I just discovered that one day, I might go to Japan and find some girl there; we need more choices. And I mean a wife, not prostitutes. :rolleyes:Quote:

Besides, we're talking about globality now. For goodness sake, you know there's this thing called the Internet that you can find clients online, delivery artwork and receive payment all through online transactions, right? For goodness sake, Ree pal......get out of your Flash cave and view the world!
Guys, look at how Flash has fried Ree's future and brains!
See you,
Xeon.
I have PHP running on IIS in my computer, and the scripts I made are accessible in our LAN. I just made sure that IIS settings doen't allow remote access (from internet) among other security measures. I didn't find it hard/complicated. :D Ofcourse, I'm no expert here. But what made you say that installation and configuration of PHP is a big topic itself? :)Quote:
