Okay, now I'm interested... where across the world is Thanksgiving actually celebrated? I know that technically it may exist only in North America, but I'm certain that other people celebrate the "autumn harvest" with some sort of feast. I want to hear from people who actually live in the countries they're talking about (so if you're from Europe don't say "Thanksgiving isn't celebrated in India" even if it isn't).
From Elrond:
If there's such a country, then it's gonna be real darn great! There's over 200 holidays in the world, and if any country recognise and practice all these 200++ holidays, then it's citizens can rest for more than half a year!!!!!!!!! :):):D:D:DQuote:
As long aas I know, thanksgiving is only celebrated in North America, so there's no holiday for anyone who's not from there.

(although the economy would collapse like anything) ;)
We haven't such holiday like Thanksgiving and I think it exists only in North America. But we have another holiday wich, I think, haven't in other countries. It is International Woman's Day ( March 8 ). It has word "International" in a title, but has place only on the territory of late USSR. :)Quote:

When I studied in Cadiz (Spain), we had holidays in February due to carnivals!!! :D :D (a week) :)
China also have this holiday. So it is really International.:DQuote:

The woman's day is probably international, but may not be a holiday every where. I think it exists in France, but I'm sure it's not a holiday.
During Autumn in France we have two bank holidays:
1 of November, day of the dead, a religious think.
11 of November, Armistice of the World War 1
Here in Ireland, there's one bank holiday that would be for Halloween.
The difference is that in Ireland the day off is not fully set by date. If it happens during a week end, then you'll have the next monday off, so you never miss a bank holiday.
In France, if a Bank holiday happens during a week end, it's lost to you, even though if there's too many bank holiday occuring during week end for a particular year, you may have one or two additional days off to take.
Same thing in Singapore!:DQuote:

In Spain, if the bank holiday happens on Sunday it is moved to another day :)Quote:

I have just remembered one joke :)
Man and his wife are talking:
-Why do U say that I am drunkard? I take alcoholic drinks only during holidays or when I go to the bath-house.
A little later.
- So, Wife, is it any holiday today?
- No.
- Well, I am going to the bath-house. :D
From Simon666:
1) My Great Beast......is there any official/technical term for these people? Are they called "Lucksters" or something??!Quote:

2) I notice you can use the word "bestard"(wrong spelling, but this is essential, cos' the CodeGuru forum software will filter out this word)
How is that so, my Great Beast? Pray Simon, do teach me the art of the trade. Thanks! :):):D:cool:
Hmmm... it looks like I'm one of the few around here on a four day weekend ;)
But I guess I'll have to wait till next month for a holiday celebrated around the world.
