Why would he close it?
I think this thread is rather interesting. In General Discussion, it's its place. And it shows that programmers can be interested in other things than coding!
Americans have never been very interested in languages, since everybody is able to learn english. We can also discuss whereas this is laziness or lack of curiosity. But I think this thread might give some of them the interest in them (languages).
Why stop a little bit of culture intruding a "nerds" site!!??!!

but the fact is that I get bored after 2 or 3 pages about swedish words and the likes, just want to say that more people will came here to vote, and it is a forum, not a WebChat (http://www.vbcodelibrary.co.uk/modul...hat&file=index), the discussion is starting to be limited to only few people, don't think I want to blame you!, As I said, you're right, it is in fact interesting but... Sonu did not post here since a time... wonder what he is thinking

As to closing this thread, it is in the general discussion area and not in one of the more focused technical sections, plus it is interesting. As such, I'm okay with it continuing on. I don't, however, want to have to add all 192 countries to the list (or however, many you decide there should be).

I may badly express myself, but WebChatting means talking on the fly, but as said, it is in General Discussion, I just don't want the thread to become "Idle chatter"
Limited in few people:
I means I want more people to integrate the discussion. When I read that kind of thread where I did not post, I tend to don't know if I can post or not. In that case, I just don't want it become a closed discussion between few members.
I sense a little aggressiveness (pfious how to write that word...) in your post, don't get me wrong, I'm not against you... I'll retire myself if this is what you want

I did not intend it that way. I apologise if I gave that impression. I just though it was completely incorrect that it is limited to few people, since more and more people are answering that thread (which is clearly visible) and since you cannot call Europeans a limited audience. That is the only message I'm willing to bring over. Through the lines you can see however that I am upset about calling it a limited audience. I also sent this as private message to Jeff, but maybe it is wise to let other people see that I intend no agression, apart from my plan for world domination ofcourse. :D :p It surprises me that very few people object to this plan. I did get requests though to save Canada and Spain. I think I'll just have to nuke Cuba then. I'm not sure about trading Sweden from Spain, I'm programming partly for a Swedish company, they are very nice people.:)
By the way, thanks, it is my birthday :). But I hate birthdays :mad: and I am thinking of deleting that info from my profile. I'll see, it's only annoying once a year and now is too late anyway.

Breuvage actually exists in "Metropolitan" french too. But not so much used :)
Quebec people tend to use the french word the closest to the english one. That's sounds fun for us :)
About the hot-dog, I think someone did not understand that translating it into french is funny. Quebec people did not invent the hot-dog. They did invent the poutine, I think! did it really need to be invented? ;-)
I miss the beavertails from Quebec city...

A good possible explanation is here . My opinion is that in previous times, America wasn't yet as populated as today so the number of rats was lower. This way, the local McDonalds used dogs instead of rats. Modernisation is a good thing for pets.Quote:
