You have 3 identical pieces of paper as shown on the posted picture. By adding a fourth (identical) piece in two different ways each time you must get a square on the pciture. Pieces are different colors for better view. You cannot move the initial three pieces just the fourth which you'll add.
Good luck ;) you'll need it
I think I can speak for all of us that it took longer to be able to post than to be able to solve it. :(
I have been trying to answer for hours!!! :(
I wasn't able to access Codeguru. Anyway, my solution is in the attached file, it's very bad because I had to paint this using Kodak Imaging.
The square is the hole in between the pieces. :)
I hope I'm the first one in answering... :D :p
Oh, Simon, this is not fair, your answer was not in there when I wrote mine, and then I was taken to the thread page again and there it was!! :(
That one was a bit obvious SeventhStar! Simon's turn I reckon.
In view of the awful slowness that is hacking everyone off, would it be appropriate to adjourn until tomorrow?
The winner takes all. :D  Nah, just kidding, the board is slow and I would have to search for a question to ask anyway, so ask ahead Ana. ;) Unless you want to consider John's point, and as you experienced yourself, he has a point.
You're very gentle! :)Quote:

But I can't come to think of any question now, so whoever has a good one and wants to post it, it's your turn. ;) :)
I don't know if seventhstar last question is valid as there are much more than two answers. Actually, I found about 7 different possible squares. And I don't even talk about different positions for the addition peace of paper. I really talk about 7 different positions for the square.
Just have a look at my nice little RED square!
In that configuration you have to be very careful not to move the piece of paper underneath.Quote:

Oh man! I've read through these countless pages reading each exciting riddle, and the controversy over the mirrors, etc.! All that, and there isn't a riddle up for grabs now! I can't earn a point!! :( I'm surprised I've even remained on the leader board. Okay, how bout this:
What do I have in my pocket?
String!
Correct, give a point to SolarFlare ;)!!
Hi solarflare,
You might have guessed from the postings today that the CodeGuru site has been having a bad hair day and everyone got p****d off about it and we all gave up for the day.
However, as you say, that leaves you without a fair crack at the whip so here's one to keep you going....
A farmer is heading towards the centre of a newly ploughed field. There is nothing in the field (apart from the usual stuff - soil, worms, insects etc) and nobody is forcing him to go there. He is certain that when he gets to the centre of the field he will die but he can't turn back. Why?
PS - anybody who keeps his pockets full of string doesn't deserve a point :D :D
Maybe the farmers parachute didnt work, and he is heading vertically towards that field. As for turning back....
before that I need to tell you that I need Different squares... sorry but yesterday my connection with codeguru taotaly carshed up and i couldn't add this to my riddle. Will you accept this or will the point go to Simon anyway?
