Sushi is sushi. Sashimi is sashimi.
Fish may be an ingredient of sushi. But raw fish alone is Sashimi... NOT Sushi. :p :rolleyes:

:eek:...I'd lived in Japan for 50 years before I moved to this snowy place:D...I'll tell you the secret of sushi...it's actually sashimi with extra ingredeints like rice, etc....

Yes, I perfectly understand your point. But you see, the 2 steps you've posted earlier didn't mention any rice... just raw fish. Therefore, you were talking of Sashimi... NOT Sushi. ;)

You said so yourself, and its clear in that link you just posted too:
Sushi = Sashimi + rice, etc
Sashimi = raw fish only

Okay. Just say the following 10 times:
"She sells sushi by the seashore"

I have never made sushi myself, but I have already ate it and liked it :)
However I'm not sure if I would eat Sashimi if that's only pure raw fish without anything else... I like the rice etc with the sushi :) The most important thing is that the fish you use is very very fresh.
