Where are we from ?

Hello!

Thank you very much for your kind messages. I'm fine, but a bit angry with all of this.

My contract was temporary, so nobody is going to pay me any compensation for losing my job. The worst part is that in February I was going on a trip to Holland, for the first time in my life. It's been many years since the last time I went abroad and I was expecting this trip. But now I don't have money, so I won't go there, and neither will my boyfriend, who was going abroad for the first time ever. :( :mad:

Marina, I'll be in this forum for one month or so still. If then I go back to the Canary Islands, I will let you know and we'll talk about apartments. They want us to clean the archive and things like that, and they want us to do our job exactly as before even knowing that we're being fired. Should I make a lot of "ooops, mistake"? :D

Simon, I'm looking for any kind of job related to computers or communications, I don't mind in which field it is. Obviously, I'd prefer to work in Television as I've always wanted (behind the cameras, not in front of them), but it seems that there aren't many job offers at the moment in this field. I'm seriously thinking in going back to study and try to pass a national exam (oposicion, I don't know if that exists in Europe). I mean working in a public company, or in the Administration and so. I know this kind of exams exists also for television, so maybe I'll try.

I would not advise you to do that as they are your first job reference when you will look for a new one.

OTOH, there's nothing about working more slowly in these condition and spend more time for yourself (looking for a job and talking on CodeGuru ;) )

I don't know if I'd prefer that no one understood me! I don't want to seem rude or anything, but anyway, it's true. I think in Spanish we're quite more used to bad words and they seem normal to us. Well, not very bad words, just a little. In English this same sentence would seem awful to me. ;) :)

I can tell you that by living in Ireland, it's a good thing I don't care too much about bad words. Even if I'm not used to write or speak much of them, the fcking people around don't fcking stop speaking like shite!

Yes, Irona, I agree with Elrond, you should not make volontary mistakes (that's sabotage and then you can be fired for aggravated reasons), but take it easy. If you do your job cool-ly, they can't do much about it. Since they don't even pay you anything at the end, there is no carrot to make you run, and the "stick" is already there... (is that metaphor popular in english too??)
I had to finish my project the last three months we worked. But there was nobody staying after me to tell I did bad work anyway. Except we arrange with the american colleagues that they would come and we would teach them how our stuff was working. Even though they did not care because they had no time to take over, and later they got fired too... So I don't want to imagine where our nice project have ended... It's a shame it was really a good things for their products.

Ok, I'm lost... where was I?
My job too sucked at the end. The project was interesting, but not the colleagues (at least the closest french ones). This company closing gave me the spring to find something better suited for me. :D
Oh yes, the last three months, we had the right to take some time to look for a job, as soon as we were ok with the planning ad finishing the project. (!)
In the french law you have the right to do so, that's 50 hours a months to look for a new job. Check the spanish low for it!

What these b@stards are trying to do is to maximize and suck up all your potential and get the most outta you before they kick you away. Really, u mustn't be a slave!
Don't report to work tomorrow and start looking for a job. If there's no job in the world(which is impossible), you can always move to the countryside and rear chickens and pigs and have a simple lifestyle.(rear and cook these animals etc.)

U gotta be like Irona in this case : be real darn practical. If they don't pay you $$$, don't give a fcking(thanks to Elrond!:D) he|| to 'em and leave. Time is precious.
