I play some games indeed, but not that much to justify a Ti4400. I bought it more because I hoped to have the time to work on some graphics programming. But I haven't had spent a couple of hundred bucks on it if the old one didn't pass away.
Yeah, I like high end machines -- but as a private person I am not prepared to buy one. At least as long as I don't make money with it. And in our business, i.e. programming, ultra fast machines are rarely justified. Yes, if we did some 3D rendering, LightWave stuff or so, then maybe.
I recently got a significant faster machine at work but the build times didn't decrease correspondingly :) You can achieve much more by organizing your headers in a smart way then by spending LOTS of money for RAID arrays. My 2 cts.
