Well, most people never change.Quote:
Arg, I thought that at least for his 3000st post he would give a really insightful answer to a really hard question... Well, expectations can be wrong.
Xeon: I don't care wether you would have to kiss a man or have a poster of you spread nation wide announcing you being gay: it only happens once, then you can get away from it and you'll probably never see any of those military guys again and most likely nobody will pay attention and recognize you in a future time.
Arrgghhhhh ha ha!!!!!!! U're making my tummy burst with laugher, Yves!!!!! Heh heh heh heh!!!!!! Ha.....oh oh.....oh-oh.......oh ho ho ho!!!!!!! :D:D
Heh heh heh! How funny! ;)
Picking up soap bars that drops in the shower? That's even worse!!!!!!!! :):D
Maybe I should castrate myself? :D:D
And Gabriel......ok......on everyone's account, I'll delete the whole chunk. See you guys! :)
Yves:
I think nobody checks that you know. There is no standard test anywhere in the world whether you are gay or bisexual. I think those guys are just counting on it that you are afraid that they would find out (which they can't) or that this might end up in the government's records. The latter is more likely although I seriously doubt that in any bureaucracy (as in Belgium) records can without problems go from one government institution to another, especially not away from the military to another.
Just to give an example: the police in our country have several different computer systems which can't communicate with each other. I don't believe it is any better in Singapore.
Nay Simon pal! Regardless of what you said, right or wrong, I wouldn't change my mind. :)
Alas! What is it in the universe that can make me change my mind? Naught.
I thought about starting a thread to ask you to post a picture of yourselves ( a larger one, using the [ img] tag). Would you guys be interested? I am really curious how the people I interact with every day look like. Those avatars are much too small.
What do you say? Sonu, Marina, Xeon, Yves, Simon etc etc---
Good idea, Gabriel, except if you only post a picture of your dog ;)
Though then again I would lose much of my scariness :)
No, go ahead, it's a great idea :)
Good Idea!Quote:

I do not think many people have a digital image of themselves. I have, and Marina too, but I guess that does not apply to a lot of people.
And Ungi, we know you're not a trumpet in real life ;)Quote:

Yes, well, at least the people who have some will be able to post them :)Quote:

Actually, in real life, Ungi is a smashed washing machine. :DQuote:

I'll try to get a Picture of mine with a TROMBONE on it...Quote:

Well OK, I guess I'll bother you with the only digital picture of me, where I'm staring at a computer screen in a stupid way.
Another question, why should Gabriel start a new thread, we discuss everything in this thread, why shouldn't we post our pictures here??
Arrrrg ! Excuse me, my musical knowledge is not very developed :/ But I hate trombones... My sister started playing that when she was 11 and... arg ! It was an awful month before the united front of the rest of the family could convince her to stop :) (In reality she got bored of it and the most she got out of it was cleaning it thourougly after every use. I guess that's why she stopped :p)Quote:

Try a look at one of my favourite brass bands and you hear what 3 trumpets 3 trombones and 1 bass could do. incredible!!!!

Good old ugly me.
Its a good idea, we could start a new thread with the images, but before that we could start an another poll to check which of yous agree with that or not ! :DQuote:

Just Kidding: If you want start one thread, but you guys already know how i look like ( a real nice and good looking gentleman ) !

About my picutre. I'll be able to post it on monday because i have no one here (companies place) and at home i dont rellay have a fast internet support...
Sonu, that picture had (orange) circles on it. Even the women were not that good visible due to poor resolution. We do not know clearly how your face looks like.
Currently, i do not have any other image of me. I will make one on monday and show it you guys.Quote:

A larger one, and into the other thread, please. :)Quote:
What other thread? The image is large too, just click on it.

Wow...that is a great idea though...maybe after that the crap turns into something that you could actually use...:DQuote:

Here is an excerpt of the common controls overview in french :)
And here the english version for reference :Quote:
I guess it's not too bad, but I wonder if it is anywhere near usable ;) But I have to say that I'm quite impressed with its translation of the first sentence.Quote:
Because new versions of the common controls were distributed with Microsoft Internet Explorer, the version of Commctl32.dll that is present is commonly different from the version that was shipped with the operating system. It may actually be several versions more recent. It is thus not enough for your application to know which operating system it is running on. It must directly determine which version of Comctl32.dll is present. For a detailed discussion of common controls versions and how to determine which version of Comctl32.dll is installed, see Shell and Common Controls Versions.
BTW, it's really neat how it translates "Shell and Common control versions" into "versions de commande de coquille et de terrain communal" :p
For non-french speakers, it treats "shell" as in "shell-fish" and translates "common" as meaning the land belonging to a city ;)
Ok I'm not a web guy :) But couldn't you make a clickable world map that keeps track of this. Make sure that small island in the south pacific is correctly labeld as MicksLand where our only import is BEER! Just a suggestion ;)
What do you mean ? Where people are actually from ?
Well...thank you very much... :cool:Quote:

But while looking at the translated part...I know that I had french for 7 seven years in school...I know it for sure...but this looks really like an unknown language to me...
Maybe I should have paid better attention when I was in school... :D
Yves if your talking to me. Ya. Instead of the 'text country poll'. A clickable world map showing countries to vote on. I'd hope people knew where they were from and could find it on a map :)
www.flipdog.com -> find jobs, something like that map of the states except for the whole world, and maybe some outer planets for those that are really out there ;)
As a 100% french reader/listener/writter understander (<-- advise, that word may not exist in actual language). That is completly crap. I actually have french MSDN (part of ;)), it is not MSDN debate, it is babylonian (or whatever) translation, it is hard to understand that Shell should stay Shell, don't bother if you read and if you understand nothing, there is nothing to understand...but the french MSDN is quite well done :D
But anyway, it is true that MSDN is sometime.. hard to understand, but, hey, that why there is site like that one:
MysteriousSite
Well, it would be a nice idea, but I believe it would be pretty difficult to implements in here, I would rather prefer to see, at LESS, a ComboBox filled with 192 countries... (or 191, maybe there is a little one that slip to us past days:)):DQuote:

JeffB
Well...thanks...then I do not have to sue my former french teacher... :DQuote:

I mean... where to find it might be easy for some people, but it would be impossible to click on Luxembourg on a digitized world map that's not some indecent size ;)Quote:

Honestly, the only use I see in web based translation is if you can't even read the characters of the language. I'm not very fluent in chinese, so if some web-tool would "translate" the page into a similar thing like this english-french translation, I would be very happy.Quote:

Even though I don't know any dutch, it's more helpful to "read" the actual dutch text for me than have it translated :p
And where's Mars, Venus, the constellation of Orion, etc? We wouldn't want to offend anyone! I'd hate to be an "Other".
Perhaps just Off-World will do, since there will not likely be many.
Sorry, forgot. I'll try to get one. (Perhaps soon)Quote:
