Gabriel, maybe you are comparing with a more experienced person, because for 4 years experience, it's not too bad.
And with the market that is now, it's hard to find a job, and it's even well-paid.

By the way 1 euro makes 1,15 dollar.
So I think 60K dollars is more likely to make 80K euros than the opposite.

If your a startup, then 9-5 isn't what people want in an employee, if your a corp, then 9-5 is the norm.
Me I don't care either way, I love what I do, so I spend usually 12-14 hours a day working, some days I just take off early, it's a given, if you put in the hours, you get to do what you want :) usually :)

I'd say that in France at the moment, 35 to 40K before taxes per year is probably what you can ask for. Then it also dpeends on other factors: what is you qualifications (VC++ and MFC and ATL is good, but do you have data base, ASP, XML, ... knowledge), will you travel, what languages are you speaking, ...
The tax system is a bit messy in France. Some taxes are taken out of your salary at once when you are paid, and then, depending on all your earnings (including other revenues from stokes, buldings, ...) you will pay taxes again (a significant enough amount).
On the other hand, as heavily taxed as you can be, there are a few advantages like a good enough health care, a good enough coverage when you get laid off, ...).
That's what you can expect anyway. I know that the salaries are close enough from that in Ireland as well, but life is more expensive now than in most of France. At least you get taxed only once on your salary...
Yeah, that is possible. However, I like to spend time home with my wife as well. I like my job, but I like having a personnal life as well, so I try to keep my work time under 9h a day.Quote:

I also don't work for companies in major cities. I once worked in downtown DC (for 3 months, walked away after that)... 17 and k...that was the worst job experience in my life...ugggh....taking the metro to work everyday...I carried a gun in my backpack (shhh) but then I wouldn't get in trouble if I got caught, cause umm heh heh, I had a 'in' in the DC police force...called..hmm 'my old man' *lol*Quote:

When you committ a petty crime like shoplifting or overspeeding and you ARE caught by a MALE COP, do not panic or run.
I say you must not panic because he will bully you.
I say you must not run because you cannot outrune him.(if you're caught, you're dead)
Thus, when you committ a small offence and you're caught by a male cop, do the following : (bad-case scenario)
Cop : Hey you! What you doing around here? I saw you speeding like crazy! Now, your license, please. Com'on.
You : Well, well, well. Now, relax, Sir. You know you rule and that I can't run away from you. I'm gonna lose no matter what.
Cop : Cut the crap, ******! Gimme your license now if you don't want to be a jailbird.
You : But is there no other choice? Oh yes, we can make a deal, pal. Look : after work, we go to XXX Nightclub. Beer and girls on me. No one's gonna know. U will be a winner. Everyone wins!
At this point, if the cop don't care what you say, offer him cash. If he's still so righteous, then give him your license. No way out.
However, if he shows some signs of bribery-allowed, then you have your chance. You win.
Another way is to act pathetic and sad. For example, things like "Please Sir. I'm begging you, my wife is in painful labor now and I need to see her! Please, I will do anything! I really love my wife! Please Sir? :("(cry if you need to)
Get it? :D
However, if the cop is one cute female cop, then you will win 80% of the battle if you follow the trick below :
F. Cop : Excuse me, Sir. You're overspeeding. Your license, please.
You : Why! Very very pretty. Exquitsive. You're not in a hurry, are you?
F. Cop : No, but I need your license and no crap, please.
You : Look : if I refuse to give you my license, you wouldn't get anything. In a fight, I will win. However, if you answer my question, I'll give you my license. Just a few minutes, k?
F. Cop : Ok, what's it you want?
You : Well, why are you so pretty? U must be a part-time supermodel, right? Really, I happen to have a camera-enabled phone and I wanna take your photo.(yes, tell lies to her....your license matter more!)
It's not easy to see a pretty maiden like you, seriously.
F. Cop : Aww...really......thank you. But I still need your license. It's my job.
You : Ok, ok.....but do u really wanna take my license away? I'll be sad, really. :(

At this point, either she will leave you alone or she'll go with you to eat chicken chop. This WILL WORK, trust me. Also, you gotta look really sincere when talking to female cops. They tend to have softer hearts and you need to act as if you really wanna make her job easy, and as if you really care about her well-being.(offer to buy clothes for her if you need to)
Lastly, be friendly when talking to her. Give a relaxed smile and have friendly expressions and be CALM. Be natural too.
Girls respond more favorably to guys who're friendly and nice to them.
Plus, if everything else fails, offer to chat with her for some times. Girls tend to be bored sometimes, so a chat with her about your school days and dreamy stuff will get her engrossed.(girls are not as practical as guys, trust me)
In some EXTREME cases, people who try this tactic of mine actually married OR became good friends with the female cops.

By the way, my book only works for cops in certain countries, and it's mainly targetted to the American, Canadian and Western European market.
You need to use different approaches when dealing with different cops from different countries.
Using the wrong approach with the best tactics will get you nowwhere but in jail. :):cool:
Cops in certain countries follow the law totally and they trust the laws more than they trust God.....so, in such cases, don't play with them.(not even the female ones)
The cops in Western countries tend to be friendlier, and although police violence is present sometimes, you CAN MAKE deals with them.
Overspeed and lose your license? Never again.
