I always did like the history of the russian federation...your/their history is deep and rich...I liked it better when you were just one big country...now it's hard to keep up with who's who....

History, yeh... at least Europe is more old than US with "white peoples", so we have the thing that U donot have - it is a more old history :)
But I can say that owr relations with Russia was not so peacefull all time, we become a part of Russian Empery from 1792 year and it was not by the peace way. Yeh in middle centuries we had a great history, but then was occupied by more power neighbord countries (like Poland and Russia)... we have some big revolts here (1831, 186*) against Russia but them were sunk in blood by Russian empery army... Some of revolts leaders than became a heroes of French Revolution for ex. So the moment between 1790 - begin of 20 century was a difficult period and I never like when some of our and russian politics tell that ha.. we always live in a peace.. hahaha soviet propagand always told this .. they rewrited the history because they wanted to make everyone looks like others - soviet peoples - without history and nation honor. All are equel.. hm.. but of course some of them are more equel...I donot like USSR ... dark country .. time when a man is nothing, he is a void place ... COMMUNIST PARTY is a GOD and everyone need "to pray" to it... "A jail of nations in other words"

About Chechny - I think russians never get a peace there. They got it by war some centuries ago and I donot see a cause why so proud nation like Chechens can forgive it, especially after last 10 years of war, after departation of practically all nation from their land during Stalin... They donot want to lose Chechny because in this case other nations from Russian Federation can go away too.
