ok, you r talking about self determination to avoid it, but IMHO, not many people have that.. and most people are not ready (or is it don't want;)) to be unpluged...:D

I totally agree with Deniz, :thumb: Although I look at it from another religion's (Islam) perspective, but we share the same opinion..
Talking about violence, few years back, there was a local movie in some cinema here (full of voilence), when the auidence came out, two guys with out any particular reason fought (fully charged by the movie) and one killed other at the spot. Both were above 30. Thanx to the violence in the movie.
About pornograph, few months back, there was a big social scandal here. Sincce there is no proper check here, the cyber cafes are main source of pornography. A guy (who owned the cyber cafe) put a cam hidden and started recording videos of the people, including kids, girls, married copules, unmarried copules (who ever came in, he shot them). For more then a year, he blackmailed the peoples , specially the girls (I don't think that I need to mention that what he demanded from whom) and then somehow those videos got out. In few days, they were spread all over the country. Many female victims commited suicide.

and to forbid porn is not the duty of the state (thats censorship !) .. its on the duty of the parents to prevent their kids from that... maybe with a little help by the government

That comment was not directed at anyone in this thread. And I'm fully aware of how much trouble adultery can cause. But your definition of adultery is not universally accepted. If it works for you, fine, use it. But not everyone believes that the act of thinking about or looking at someone else is a bad thing. If we go through all the posts of the first school of thought, we see that they are more focus to the individuals. Like they consider it from the single person prespective. They have there views that if someone goes through a porn site and have some fun, its fine.
The second school of thought is more focused from a social prespective. There view is that it doesn't end there. The aftermath effects propogate and it may hurt the other peoples.
Also the fact that different part of the world has different traditions and customs. Some of them may accomodate this, some may not. So a generic solution for this is virtually non-existent.
From an individual point of view, you MAY be right, but we do not live in a world, where everyone is isolated. There are many other people who are connected with us and its not only OUR life that counts, and you can never guarentee that every person of the society is well matured enough that he'll not take the -ve side of the porn. Consider this case, suppose a guy go through a porn site, which reflect rape. Now charged with this, the guy rapes some girl, the girl eventually commit suicide (or even if she doesn't), who is responsible for all these consiquences? The guy? The guys parents? The government? Do h_e_l_l with the responsible entity, but who has to face the results? The girl. Damage has been done, now you can revert it back or can you?
Now, think from the goverment point of view. If you are responsible for the betterment of your society, will you allow such cases to happen? What will you do? Well, one thing surely you'll do is to promote education (I don't mean sex education) to ensure that people of your society are mentally stable and don't go for any such brutal actoins, but can you be sure? I don't think so. Now what to do? You have to deal with it at the first line of defence, not at the last step, don't you? Offcourse the people who are matured enough can take care of themself, they ARE responsbile for THERE life, but what about the others? And others include people from all age ranges, including kids (yours and others), teenagers, boys, girls, everyone.
