I heard that there were things that just 'happened' while Vista was running. They caused problems, but nobody could really document the when and how's. However, they seemed to all be fixed!
I read that, almost word for word.

I have a copy of Vista Ultimate, and I had it installed on my new computer a few months ago, however, my new machine's motherboard is kaput, so I had to take it back, that was almost 2 months ago and I'm still waiting to hear from the manufacturer, it's getting very very frustrating.
For the Dutchies, it's Alternate that's supplying my hardware. Bloody idiots if you ask me.
Just waiting the 10-15 minutes between looking for Windows Update for the final step in installing SP1 for Vista...

EDIT: Long Process, but uneventful. 362mb final download
I just finished up a book project, so it was a good chance to wipe my personal notebook computer. As such, I just installed Vista on it again.
I had installed Vista onto it when I wrote my Vista book, but took it off as soon as the book was completed because too many things on the notebook didn't work due to lack of drivers. That was when Vista first installed.
I am happy to say that initial testing seems to indicate that most things did install and that driver support seems to be much, much better. I wasn't ablet to get Aero support when I installed last spring. This time, I was able to get it up and running with Aero support. In the next few days I'll check the DVD writable drive and a few other advanced features; however, it looks like it might have installed cleanly and properly. Of course, the installation on the "Vista ready" machine required that I update the BIOS....
Bottom line - maybe it is actually time to start using the licenses I own :D
Brad!
