Of course not, I'm referring to the code that was generating the error messages above in post 7. Why would you assume I was referring to you? Actually I'm saying essentially the same thing as jnmacd, he just managed to say it a few seconds earlier.
The posted lines clearly contain quotation marks in the wrong places (what does << " << even mean?), hence the errors.
That's all right, I don't particular like you either.
And the issue wasn't with you helping. Helping is great. It was about you solving, completely, the presented question. That's not helpful, and it's against the board policy. But you think you know better, don't you? You think you're smarter than everyone else here. And I'm sure you are smarter than many. But your refusal to accept any sort of criticism (no matter how trivlal) escalated that little incident well beyond where it needed to go. As it seems to every single time anyone corrects you on any little detail, no matter how trivial or understandable the mistake. It's okay to simply say "Fair enough" and move on, you know.
Fear not, I haven't corrected you here.
Of course you don't like me. I'm smarter than you and you're not used to that.
As I've said, I'm not going to adapt to what you and the board consider the appropriate way of helping.Quote:

I reply the way I see fit.
Are you kidding? I'm plenty used to that. I work with some very smart people. I try to learn from those who know more than me about a particular subject. I've learned plenty from my time on here.
Maybe you edge me out too, maybe not, but I've seen no evidence of it on here so far. I have seen evidence, however, that you have a far bigger ego than I.
The defense rests.Quote:

To avoid derailing another thread I'm leaving it at that. I don't like arguing with you. Or anyone, really. Something about your manner just hits all of my buttons the wrong way.
You feel you always have the upper hand, don't you? Other people's nothing but a "learning experience" to you.
Well you're wrong. You're not as smart as you think.
I tell you one thing. Regardless of whether you "like" it or not you better get used to arguing with me.Quote:

If you mean you're better at being annoying, then yes, absolutely.
Now, you've managed to tear this thread way off-topic for absolutely no good reason. I'm done helping you with that. All because you couldn't infer the correct context of a reply despite its obvious relation to a previous post.
For whatever reason you've decided to make this personal. Maybe I'll just leave your mistakes for someone else to point out next time, since you clearly can't tolerate me doing so.
Sabensohn70: Please post your complete code using code tags.
That's OK, I think Lindley and Nuzzle just killed the thread...
Lindley, you should have left when you said you'd leave it at that. Be the bigger man.
@Sabensohn70
If you are still reading this thread, I think it is time you start studying your classes, and proof reading your code. No offense, but no one should need this much help for a simple cout program. Maybe you are just a little lazy, and hope people here would help you, which could explain that.
But if you are truly having difficulties with this, it's either time to buy a good book and study hard, or start worrying :/
