Yes - CodeGuru uses WebTrends, so I can get stats on locations for people. Not at the level of all the individual countries listed in this poll, but pretty detailed. Those stats, however, are not as fun as this poll :).
As to views -- yes, each time you read this tread, the views increments. This makes the views misleading to some extent; however, regardless of how it increments, it still is a good indicator of how popular a thread is.

My suggestion is still to make a persistant post on every forum that explains and links to the poll ;) I'm not quite sure if it's standard, but on some other VBulletin board I'm on, the Administrator sometimes includes a link at the top of the board to remind us users of important changes / things to do :)

The problem is that this is the knid of forum that very little people usually visit. That's why it is a good way to use signatures when something interesting happens and you want people from another forum to see it.

There are around 192 countries. Click here for more info . Turkish Cyprus isn't included because nobody except Turkey recognises it, it is a doubtful subject. Chechnya isn't there either, but I don't know how much longer the Russians will hold on. And it is also doubtful to call for example Afganistan a country.
In order to prevent confusion and because I think the number is to big I have a radical proposal: instead of dismanteling Russian nuclear warheads, let's use them to nuke some countries of the map. Let's say maximum one country per alfabet letter should remain:
A: Argentina : they already have enough bad luck.
B: Belgium : I like to stay alive.
C: Cuba : nice touristic spot, Fidel is not as bad as they say, and since capitalism is going downhill, you never now we might need a new socio-economic system.
D: Denmark : nothing against them, sorry for Dominican Republic but we can always go on vacation to Cuba.
E : Egypt : I wouldn't like to destroy the piramids.
F : Finland : France is a lovely country if it weren't for the French.
G : Greece : I wouldn't like to destroy ancient temples either.
H : Hungary : for no reason.
I : Italy : I wouldn't like to destroy ancient temples, again. Iran, Iraq and Israel are on the way to (self)destruction anyway. Same goes for India vs. Pakistan.
J : Japan : Nothing against them. Nice people.
K : Korea, South : the North isn't the nicest country around, probably the worst. I hate dogs, maybe they can do something about it.
L : Luxembourg : Otherwise we would have too much fallout on Belgium. I didn't spare France.
M : Mongolia : The most remote place on earth. Really the middle of nowhere. It's nice to have a country to hide in after I have offended so many people from so many countries on this site.
N : Netherlands : we would have too much fallout on Belgium. But that's also the only reason.
O : Oman : only country beginning with an O anyway.
P : Portugal : For no reason. Pakistan and India will destroy each other anyway it seems.
Q : Qatar : only country beginning with a Q anyway.
R : Russia : America is getting really annoying when it is the only superpower.
S : Sweden : They're neutral. So are the Swiss, but they delivered us Sabena. Don't like their banks either. And with Singapore off the map I'm also rid of Xeon. :) :D :)
T : Taiwan : I already destroyed one China. More then enough (people).
U : United States : There are huge advantages but also huge disadvantages. They get the benefit of the doubt.
V : Vanuatu : I just found out today it existed and it's a nice name. I don't like the pope, so there goes the Vatican.
W : None : fill in a country of choice, like a joker. Let's say Belarus, or White Russia literally translated to English from Dutch and probably Russian too. I like dimm_coder.
X : None : fill in a country of choice, like a joker. Let's say Germany. I prefer them over the French.
Y : Yemen : only country beginning with a Y anyway.
Z : Zambia : Zimbabwe has already pressed its self destruct button anyway.
