PS: they way this thead is going, I forsee it will shortly be closed. ;)
What answers you going to get over those questions on Codeguru? What do you expect? The questions are such that there answers are like this:
Let me ask you one thing.. what are you going to get out of this discussion, anyway? Finally, you will only believe and listen what you want to. And if you are flexible enough - you don't need a discussion thread. Life gives ample oppurtunities to find what you want to find.Code:#include<iostream>
int main(){
std::cout << "I have a rigid belief - I cannot be swayed by other's thoughts\n";
while(1){
std::cout << "No.. but you are right.. but are you?\n";
std::cout << "Yes.. you are so wrong.. I don't believe you\n";
}
}
Please don't mess up this little chit-chat corner on CG ;)... Try finding out your answers yourself.. from books... you need some good books.. Now, there isn't a FAQ on CG about good religious books.. but you could always start with the Bible... :) Ask your parents and teachers about what they think.. and what you think..
You don't need to ask 5 billion people first to make your own beliefs. Have indigenious thoughts, build on them.
As for discussions you can visit this board - which is very similar to CG in looks:
Bible forums
Hope this helps. Regards.
Quite the opposite, actually. But let's end this conversation about "incommunication"... just accept the fact that that word does not exist. If its any consolation, there's excommunication though... :D ;) :wave:Quote:

I think exterminator have some good points there, strengtening on your belief is most important, find some books on what youre looking for, discussion with no certain ground in your own belief will just create arguments, not a discussions aymore. none wants that.
anothr thing needed is open mindness, which is not only the ability to listen to other's opinion, but understanding and ready to accept the fact that people have different opinions, though you may not agree with them, you don't have to disagree.
IMHO, rather than ending up in endless discussion about god-religion, tryng to prove something none can, better bring specific discussion about humanity issues in todays world, and how god-religion plays its role in it.. few topics I can thinks of is like "Is religion to blame for terrorism?" or "You are what your media feeds you!" or " Why humanity needs/not need religion. ".. from this discussion I believe most of us would have the oppurtunity to learn the opinion of others from very different perspectives.. at least it could probably change a bit the way we see things.
just my two cents..;)
I second that.Quote:

As I predicted this thread went out of normal chatting, and thus is now closed.
Let me step in here and make a couple of comments. I know this thread is closed, so if you have an responses to my comments, make them in Feedback.
(1) If you have a question for the moderators or management of this forum (or any Jupitermedia forum), you should ask them in the FEEDBACK or similar forum area. That is the only place where *all* of the appropriate people will see and read posts. Chit chat is the last and worst place to make such posts.
(2) You can talk about any topic not prohibited by the AUP.
However.... topics focusing on religion and politics often get heated and usually end up closed by the moderators. If such topics are started and any negative comments are made, the threads will be closed and those making the negative comments (whether in jest or in truth) risk being banned from this and all Jupitermedia forums.
(3)It is not wise to shout at moderators or to imply they are liars. This is one of the best forums on the Web and it is a result of the fantastic moderators we have here. They are not perfect -- none of us are -- but I've not seen any other forum that is moderated as well as this one. As such, I will stand up for the mods and say that shouting at them or implying they could be liars is unacceptable in a public post.
(4)Just to repeat -- Feedback is the forum for discussing what is or isn't appropriate on the forums as well as for communicating publicly with the moderators and staff of this forum. Unlike some other forums, the moderators don't tend to hang out in chit chat here. Rather, they spend mcuh of their time on technical discussions -- which is what this forum is really about.
