Re: Bomb blasts in Bombay...
My sincere condolonces to the victims in Mumbai. Really another regretable event..
But I hope that people in Mumbai specifically and India generally would not be raged and make an unwise and hasty decision, that same mistake the Americans did after 9/11. What I afraid of most not that India would go to war with another country (which could be a big disaster itself), but whats more dangerous is the Indian people going to war with each other, religious clash as seen before. I hope not to see that kind of news..
from your discussions (which is off-topic:p), you guys are saying about educating the people so that they would not be manipulated easily by the politicians, but who is going to educate them, and by what means? if education system(schools & college) and media (tv, & newspaper) is the only means of education accessible to most people, and it is controlled by the goverment which is run by bad politicians, I don't see any hope..
some might say that in western developed countries (US/UK.. etc), the people are more educated, yes, very true, but they are not well informed or exposed. They might know everything about internet banking or the DNA structure in detail (i'm exagerating here:D) but do they know how to differenciate a muslim fundamentalist and a terrorist? you see my point is not blaming the people, rather the blame is on the leaders, the law makers, the goverments, most presidents are more concerned about his presidency rather that the country and its peoples..! They are slaves to their idealism rather that serving the people that same idealism preaches, I see that most religions and most idealism(maybe except facism and others similar) are meant to serve the people and bring a better life to them, look at socialism, how noble the idea is, but how it is when put to practical under Stalin.. ok.. I better stop now..:p
peace to the world... I don't think I can change the world to be better, so I'll just try my best to change myself.;)

Re: Bomb blasts in Bombay...
Got this from a friend at Mumbai:
Quote:
Dear Terrorist,
Even if you are not reading this we don't care. Time and again you tried
to
disturb us and disrupt our life - killing innocent civilians by planting
bombs in trains, buses and cars. You have tried hard to bring death and
destruction, cause panic and fear and create communal disharmony but
everytime you were disgustingly unsuccessful. Do you know how we pass
our
life in Mumbai? How much it takes for us to earn that single rupee? If
you
wanted to give us a shock then we are sorry to say that you failed
miserably in your ulterior motives. Better look elsewere, not here.
We are not Hindus and Muslims or Gujaratis and Marathis or Punjabis and
Bengaliies. Nor do we distinguish ourselves as owners or workers, govt.
employees or private employees. WE ARE MUMBAIKERS (Bombay-ites, if you
like). We will not allow you to disrupt our life like this. On the last
few
occassions when you struck (including the 7 deadly blasts in a single
day
killing over 250 people and injuring 500+ in 1993), we went to work next
day in full strength. This time we cleared everything within a few hours
and were back to normal - the vendors placing their next order,
businessmen
finalizing the next deals and the office workers rushing to catch the
next
train. (Yes the same train you targetted)
Fathom this: Within 3 hours of the blasts, long queues of blood donating
volunteers were seen outside various hospital, where most of the injured
were admitted. By 12 midnight, the hospital had to issue a notification
that blood banks were full and they didn't require any more blood. The
next
day, attendance at schools and office was close to 100%, trains & buses
were packed to the brim, the crowds were back.
The city has simply dusted itself off and moved one - perhaps with
greater
vigour.
We are Mumbaikers and we live like brothers in times like this. So, do
not
dare to threaten us with your crackers. The spirit of Mumbai is very
strong
and can not be harmed.
Please forward this to others. U never know, by chance it may come to
hands
of a terrorist in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iraq and he can then read
this
message which is specially meant for him!!!
With Love,
From the people of Mumbai (Bombay)
Salaam Mumbai!!

Re: Bomb blasts in Bombay...
Today your sanskrit Slogan Fully Fit with this Letter. I must say to salam India. we are Indian and proud to be a Indian .
Code:
Yasha na Vidhya
Tapo na danam
Gyanam na selam
Guno na dharmam

Thanx :thumb:
Re: Bomb blasts in Bombay...
Let me translate :
Yasha na Vidhya
Tapo na danam
A person who has no education (vidhya), has not worked hard (tapo) and is not generous (danam)
Gyanam na selam
Guno na dharmam
Who has no knowledge (gyanam), no shame (sheelam), no good attributes (guna) and does not believe in righteousness (dharam)
Te manusy loka buvi bharuta
manusye rupen mregah charanti
he is like useless weight on the earth and an animal in form of human.
Mumbaikars have displayed their gyan, dharam abd vidya by not starting fighting with each other on communal/sectarian lines.
they also displayed dan and dharam while helping each other in worst times.
The terrorists on the other hand had no shame, no dharam, no mercy, no generocity.. they are actually animals in form of humans...
