It is likely that this is also wrong. The bottom half of the pilots class are more likely to have subsequently given up being pilots, or died since. Or even, not fully qualified as pilots.

Tom, I'm not sure about that. Tried proving it, my maths not what it used to be. It helps if we take the absolute value of amazingness, >=0; even in the complex domain it's OK; no problem with primes, infinity is trivial, but whichever way I go the proof breaks down if amazement is allowed to be irrational. Can't prove it either way.
Perhaps I should take logs.
