Re: CG members photo album
Nice pics guys. :)
@exterminator: I didn't know it was that cold in India.. (was it taken in India? or the airconditioning is just high? :D)
@Sid: Nice to see you around, btw. :)
@cilu: Why do you always look serious? Try smiling next time! ;) (or maybe... there's no reason to smile?) :D

That was probably taken in winter and I must have just reached office.. :D .. I don't remember exactly... :ehh: By the way, I comparatively feel much colder.. Cold is dangerous for me..
And delhi has a different story.. its too cold in winters and too hot in summers.. winters are like 4-5 to 10 and summers are like 45+ something ... dont know the exact numbers but somewhat close to those... (in celcius)
Sid.. nice pic... always showing the "close up" smile... :D You must have enjoyed with your friends .. I love getting together with old friends... :thumb:

Ohhh... interesting info there. Thanks for explaining. :)
// I know what you mean, I don't do well in cold climates... coz I easily get cold. Needs lot of thick clothes to keep me warm. :D

You bet.. :thumb: I remember one of my friends' photos taken in a zoo, which was so very well aligned by coincidence that, a chimp at a distant appeared to be perched on my friend's shoulder.

I took that picture by my own, as I was roaming alone in Frankfurt. I was more concerned whether the camera (which was put on a rucksack on a tiny wall) was well placed. So I forgot to smile. ;)

So you have been to Frankfurt (which is less than one hour from here) and you didn't even bother to drop me a note?  ;)

Re: CG members photo album
Hey, I though you were living in Stuttgart. Dam.n.. I was in Germany last week, in a business trip, in a town 30 km to Frankfurt, but Saturday I went to Frankfurt to visit the city. Promise that next time I'll drop you a message.

Well, that's correct - but Stuttgart is not that far from Frankfurt.

Well, Iasi is 14 hours away by train. And there is no flight directly from Timisoara to Iasi.
And yeah, now I'm curious how far is actually Frankfurt to Stuttgart.

It's even much nearer. Frankfurt - Stuttgart is 150 Km bee-line (that means about 200 Km road or roughly 1 hour by train).
In contrast, Iasi - Timisoara is more than 510 Km bee-line (which probably corresponds to 800 Km road or two days by train... ;))

depending on the train you take, you could end up in 24 hours trip :D

Much more... sometimes it's named train of death. That's because it must cross the mountains and pass near the Dracula's castle. :D

And since you drive with 150-180 kmph on the hightway that means 90 minutes tops.

They have the most wonderfull stakes there. :D Them alone make the driving worth while. If your missus/friend is the one driving is all for the better. ;)

This was taken on my recent trip to Ireland with a few of my rugby-loving friends. While there, we found our spiritual home: some of you may recognise it...

Re: CG members photo album
Nice picture Graham. Who do you think will win the Six Nations Tournament this year? England seems in pretty good shape.
-
Re: CG members photo album
We're looking good at the moment. My worries are that (a) Andy Robinson is too conservative - he should be blooding players like Abbott, Lund and Simpson-Daniel; (b) France are just going to get better, and we have to play them at Stade Francais. Shouldn't discount Scotland, either; if they can get a good result against Wales, they're going to have their tails up when we go to Murrayfield, and they always raise their game against the Auld Enemy.
BTW: has anyone recognised the house in the background?
-
Re: CG members photo album
The stade français is the name of a Parisian team (yes, it's a weird name), so I suppose you meant the stade de France, which is a stadium (located in ... France).
The Scots played very well, and they might win against England.
And, don't forget to tell us what's that isolated house in the background, probably built between 1850 and 1950.

Well, it's definitely not the place where James Joyce was born, nor is it Bono's home... Any other Irish celebrity who's house we should be aware of? ;) :D

Re: CG members photo album
Here's a hint. It probably won't mean much to most of you, but those who've seen the show will understand the bit about it being our "spiritual home".
Apparently, there's an American version in the pipeline.

You're right, of course. In my defense, it's a common British habit to refer to a stadium by the name of the team that plays there. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...:)

Let me guess:

Father Ted's premise - three priests living and working together on a bleak Irish isle - seemed to suggest similar fare, but nothing could have been further from the truth.
The house where the sitcome action takes place? If not, I give up. ;)

Re: CG members photo album
This looks like it's going to be a tough day for the Irish. 19 - 0
I had the luck of being in Tolouse a couple of years ago when some rugby veteran World tournament was going on.
Although I was not able to go at the stadium, the schedulle did not allowed it, the atmosphere in the city was brilliant. Especially during the night arround the pubs. Those guys really love to sing and drink and sing some more. Or viceeversa. :D
EDIT: 43 - 31 This is geting all better but this is one weird match. :D
-
Re: CG members photo album
cilu: yep - it's the house that was used to film the Father Ted programs. If you ever get the chance to see Father Ted, do so: probably not to everyone's taste, but (IMO) very funny.

Last year, I travelled over for the Agen-Sale game. Toulouse were playing Llanelli on the Friday night so, since a lot of us were flying in to Toulouse, we all went along to Stade Ernest Wallon. What an atmosphere! I have never been amongst such noise - the drummers, the cheering, the chanting: it was incredible. And, amongst all that, a bunch of a couple of dozen mad English people chanting "Sale, Sale", much to the amusement of the locals (given that "sale" means "dirty" in French).
-
Re: CG members photo album
PS: another place for tremendous, passionate atmosphere is Thomond Park in Limerick.
-
Re: CG members photo album
So Italy - England ended 16 - 31. I would have expected a more clear victory for England after the display in the first match, especially against Italy. ;)
-
Re: CG members photo album
Italy are progressing well under Berbizier - he seems to be doing something right.
-
Re: CG members photo album
France could have won by a huge margin today but even so I am not yet convinced it would have been all true. The Irish just made too manny mistakes.

Nice photo, Deniz. :)
You should try scuba diving at Grotto one time. It is one of the best cavern dive sites here in Saipan, NMI.

Yes it really is. My friends and I were just there a few weeks ago. We didn't scuba dive though. But the view on the diving site itself is nice. :thumb: Here's how Grotto looks like on the outside: http://www.delbenson.com/images/user...o%20splash.jpg

Re: CG members photo album
That looks awesome but I think you would either need a cave diving certification or lots of diving experience to go down there.
Looks like fun though...

You're right, its kinda tricky to go scuba diving there. And I do believe that one has to be with a certified diving instructor before diving there. :) But if you looked at the second link on my first post about Grotto.. there's a list of diving companies (not sure if "company" is the right word) that offer a short training before diving there. I mean, a lot of Japanese tourists (among others) go here just to dive there. I think its a package deal... training + diving with a diving instructor to guide you through.

Two weeks ago I've been in a trip with my fellow team members. I thought I should share some pictures. It was a mountain trip and it was cold and it snowed a lot.
First picture, you can see Man Utd's logo.
Second picture, we are inside an igloo that we built.
The third picture, we had a snow fight (:D). In case you wonder, I'm the one in the middle. ;)
