I also think that charisma and charme have somewhere a common root. Both refer to an elusive property of some person, a property that we cannot pin down exactly, but we that recognize immediately when we see it.
Karma, on the other hand, means as much as fate, as far as I know. In some cultures, karma is more or less something causal, meaning that our deeds in the past lives determine our fate in the current. Maybe Sonu can tell us more about this philosophy :)
Hmmm... I didn't really take the time to read all the couple of hundred of pages of this thread... I just voted and read the first and last page... I'm just wondering how a discussion on "Hey, where's Canada?" could turn into "What's the difference between charisma and kharma?" :p

Not exactly. Charisme exists also in French. Basically, it would be a "charme" that is applied to crowds, while "charme" is more in the individual relationships.Quote:

Charm : (without e in englsih, sorry) is something you have that makes people like you. Some kind of personal attractiveness.
Charism : Something in you way of being, of talking, that attracts people, they listen, so you can influence them.
There are historical examples of charismatic persons, regardless of their charm.
You can understand that someone has charism even if you don't share the ideas. But charm , that's a bit more personal.
