Well, english beer doesn't have much gas in it either. There were times at university where I got past my twelfth beer. Guinness fills too much and in any case, I take about half an hour to fourty five minutes to drink a Guinness (yeah, savour it ;) )

I had a fried who was capable of drinking 1 litre of beer in less than 5 seconds. I won many beers and whiskeys betting.

When I got to Ireland, I was already working and grown up ;), so I wasn't drinking as much than I used to ...
You probably have to savour a Guinness when you cannot have as many as you want, but I don't have this problem, so I am not always savouring it.
When you speek about 12 beers, you speak about pints ? Because in France, a beer is usually half a pint.

In Greece we also like ouzo.
It has high alcohol percentage (less than vodka, more than beer).
While I was a student in England I never managed to drink more than 2 pints of beer.:cool: (While watching football)

Well, I had a Nigerian colleague who drunk 33 pints in a day...
In Greece when we say a beer we normally mean a can of beer (330 ml), or maybe a bottle (500 ml).

Good enough prediction. Except for one point. The chances of reelection of Bush are unfortunately not that low.
Well, his unconditional support to Rumsfeld might do him some harm, but it is not even sure ... :sick:
All the previsions we have made about the after war in Irak not being well planned, about the WMD not existing and the links with Al Qaida being a legend and the terrorism being more powerful than ever mostly seem right as well.
Unfortunately, the Iraqii civilians and the US (and other coalition) grunts are those who pay for that. And it seems that it will go on for a long time.
If only all that could be solve and forgotten over a pint (of whatever you like) ! We would live in a better world. :rolleyes:
Some things have changed in two years, I revised my opinion on that. I expect him to be reelected despite of the economy and Iraq due to some deus ex machina, say, a terrorist attack before the elections.Quote:

Being an American, it's difficult to say. Kerry does have a decent support base and bush's ratings have been slipping quite a bit. So alot of things could change rather quickly and unexpectedly, to be perfectly honest I didn't expect bush to win the last one, atleast not by a slim chance. Plus if Congress and the Senate become predominantly dominated by Democrats, bush will have a hard next 4 years. The Republicancs and Democrats are pretty much a to the death struggle, none will give in to the other side, no matter what, so if the congress and senate are for the most part dominated by democrats, nothing will fly that bush will try to put forward. By the way simon, about saying that you're glad about not being an american you don't know what you're missing :p .
Just a question, what is the overall opinion of Americans around the world at the moment(please give an honest opinion and not just "Those oil hogging cowboys!!!" or something like that)?
Also, please indicate from which country that you come from, so that I could get an idea of where you're from and who you are.
