Where are we from ?

I don't know how for your countries. But last years I think we have some weather aperiodicities. For exemple, at last years we have very hot summer. It's didn't was in former times like now. This year we have only some rainy days, it was big problem for agriculture, but at the same time at more western Europe were floods. Else I know from older people than near 20-30 years ago we have very snowy winter. My grandma say that the level of snow was practical near 1,5-2 metres. Now we haven't this. It's even sometimes rainy in winter.

Probably, it's the result of global rise in temperature.

hehehe... and now snow... where is "womenfolk summer"???

Well, in Spain there is not much of an indian summer right now :/ It's mostly cloudy and even a little bit cold. Over the weekend the weather was nicer though.

And the floods... they have much more to do with the way man has changed river beds and overall water flow than with global warming. During the bad floods in France last year, people started saying that it was in fact the fault of the government (granted, people always say this ;) ) in that they preferred having mid-France flooded badly rather than having Paris a little bit flooded.

Now, guys.....I'm back!(got un-banned :p)

Ok.....I have been away for around 5 - 7 days and this legendary thread actually ballooned to 119 pages? The last time I visited this thread, it has only 102 pages!!!

No no........unlike you guys who can use the time in your office to read this thread, I can't. My school hours is the equivalent of your working hours, but I seldom get to use the PC in school, so I can't use my school time reading this thread.

So, I guess I gotta skip all those hot fun that you folks have while I'm away. Anyway, good to know that Irona and Marina and the rest of the folks are back! I thought this thread was about to die when Elrond returned and pored the Water of Life onto this thread and now........God! :)

Now, I'm sorry for all the atrocities I've committed in the past and hope you guys can forgive me. I'll try to become a much better member and talk less about sex and gurls and show more respect for this forum altogether.

But anyway, can someone please be kind enough to tell me the latest discussion on this thread? Is it about the latest fashion in weathers or maybe, it's about cloud-watching? I didn't know you guys were amature meteorologists and professional meteorologists. :D:)

Anyone who spend enough time in Ireland or England (or a few other countries) finally becomes at least partly weather amateur!

Before that we had talks about philosophy and the use of philosophers, food, artificial intelligence and video games, plus probably a few quickly finished other subjects...

Bringing the subject to games again: I bought UT2003. It sucks! OK, the graphics are better, but there aren't that many levels, the levels that are there are sometimes nearly exact copies of levels of the previous game. On top of it all your sniper rifle has become crap. You can throw it away just as well. I found it necessary to issue out a warning so that no other idiot has to waste his few dollars/euros on that crap.

Ok, I'll stick to Warcraft III for the time being then :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention that they very cleverly put only small levels in the demo to mislead you, in the real game the performance is quite a bit lower because the levels are bigger. I say it is one of the biggest deceptions since Daikatana.

OK, it is graphically better than Daikatana, and the AI is not that of an insect, but it is still deceipt.

The picture is from one of the USA's own tests. He can blow himself up for refusing to sign the Test Ban Treaty. I have my own ideas about who is really terrorist no. 1. But enough about that one.

Yes, I got banned. Originally, it was for 1 full month!!!!(not really 1 full month, but around 20++ days)
The reason why I got banned was cos' I had a very mini cold war with Gabriel every now and then publicly on the forums. Anyway, being late, about UT2003, you (<-- Yes you Simon ;) )said it is slow, are you saying the Engine is crap? When I played the demo, I said myself that great games could be done with such an engine. Also, you know UT2003 need a 733 mhz, it is pretty high, it demands a better processor instead of a better graphic card. Anyway, I'll have to take a peek to NHL2003, but you may not know about that games depending of where are you from :)

As for weather, it was -3 here today in the morning.

As for skiing, their is things worse than destoying a mountain with skis... like destroying building(s) with bomb(s) and plane(s).

Most certainly not. The graphics are excellent and it turns very well on my Pentium 4 1.4 GHz with GeForce 3, although the detail could not be set to the highest because it was getting slow then. I did say that it is misleading and even deceipt to put only small levels in the demo because this makes you think you can play the entire game with all options on Maximum, or on my brothers older computer (P3 1GHz GFII if not mistaking) with still high graphics. It just looks ugly on the latter. And I did use the word crap for the level design since there are just too few and some or just shameless copies, as well as for the gameplay because your sniper rifle is worth nothing any more. I knew that sniping would be discouraged, but I didn't think it would be that bad.

The Engine will surely be licensed for others games like it have been with the first. I think UT and Quake3 engine are the expensive (and the better) of the industry, something like 200 000$ I think... may be wrong ;)

Well anyway, I did not get really impressed at first, but it is still really beautyfull (sp?). As for the Sniper, it will discourage people to be hiding and shooting everyone... but is not Sniping be hiding and shooting everyone? Anyway, for the levels, the community will surely create good ones, and recreate those of the first one ;)

That's why I'ld rather see Europe on the list instead of a number of insignificantly small (if there is such a thing) countries, the worst of all Luxemburg (Dutch spelling).

I think it was Sam Hobbs who found out, but I'm not sure any more, it is a while ago. The trick is to write it in ascii:

h : &# 104
e : &# 101
l : &# 108

But leave the blank out. It is then replaced with the corresponding character by vBulletin. So the easiest is to write:

h&# 104ll with no blank between &# and 104. This will then be replaced with h&#101ll, which you do not get by typing ****.
