Simon666 gave us a link at the beginning that says there are 192 official coutries. That's much less than I tought tere would be, but that's still a long list.
dimm_coder:
Thanks for the report. I gonna read it as soon as I can get some time.
Elrond : it is less than one page. And the list of countries : it was this post. You will also see that I do not wish to nuke Netherland. :D
Tss, I should ban you just for this :p No seriously Ungi and me asked right at the start of the poll to get Austria and Luxembourg included in the list. I guess Simon was a bit lazy about Belgium so it never got added :pQuote:

It would be too difficult to find out where the people who voted "other" came from and then add them correspondingly. So Simon, see, Gabriel has been a moderator far longer than I have ;)Quote:
I think we should not edit the poll (again). Switzerland is also not listed, if that makes you feel better.
I know that Yves, I was just joking about the favoritism. But unlike you, I never PM'd Brad because I think if Belgium were added, all countries with more inhabitants should too, and that would be quite a list.
dimm_coder, I read your report. It is indeed quite bad that people get so heated up about personal cult issues. You are right to say that there is not the the freedom that was promised :(
I guess next time I'll have to add more smileys to show that I'm just teasing ;)Quote:

I've had this same problem a few time with normal post for the past one or two days. CG seems to have problems.
If you click the link to redo your action, it may work. Otherwise, try to vote again in one or two days.

I have checked the poll. It is not closed, nor did it expire so I guess there was some problem with CG as you tried to vote. Try again.
Sorry, I made a mistake here. :p
Hmmm......speaking about moderators and Yves, the new moderator makes me think of moderators. I believe Elrond is gonna be the next moderator, and then we would have the 4 great kings of the high past who rule the dimension of Codeguru under Lord Brad, the creator of all great kings.
King Sonu, King Gabriel, King Yves and King Elrond. :):D
King Cimperiali, King Cakkie, but wait a minute... where's King Xeon???? :D :DQuote:

As for me, I'm already the king of the solar system; it would be an insult to me to be named king of a website as well. I have a lot of universe to conquer, and I'm not gonna live forever. Hey, do you think I could claim ownership of the void between galaxies?Quote:

That's going to be difficult, plus it eliminates the point of owning void. Also I don't have a flag :(. Maybe I'll just steal Libya's flag...Quote:

From a moderator, I would work quadruply hard to get myself the position of Site Manager.
When that day arrives, I would implement total havoc and maximum chaos coupled up with infinite destruction in Codeguru : I would get everyone's posts and mix them all up and stir cocktail, and I would hire hackers to mega-smash this site while I laugh in perverse pleasure and psychotic joy.
My best past-time, during that time, is to implement errors and bugs into each and every article and sample projects posted on Codeguru.
Till then, guys........relax. It would be a long long long HeII of a time before the demon lord awakens. Till then, Solar......even your mini play-toy of a galaxy is too boring to arouse my pervasiveness. :):D:D
Until then.......life is darn peaceful.......ooooooo.......gurls......:D

Concerning people in space : Russia is launching a Belgian astronaut tomorrow at 4 o'clock. The launch was postponed due to the explosion of another Soyoez missile recently. If it goes wrong in Russia (it seems it always does:( ), we will have a new "first" : first dead person who is not citizen of one of the superpowers USA or Russia.
Is Russia still a superpower?
Well, if you have 3000+ nukes lying around somewhere ready to incinerate entire countries upto 3000 degrees, as far as I'm concerned, you are a superpower.

Well, if the terrorists kill around 3 innocent people and you kill 117 innocent, wound hundreds more, I start wondering which side is terrorist. I think serious errors have been made in the choice and/or dosation of the gas, and the lack of anti-poison or something.Quote:

Considering the amount of explosives the terrorists had and their intentions, it can be called a succes they did not succeed in executing their goals, but if you consider that that many people did not need to die, it is also a huge catastrophe.
Shared opinions. There's a lot of things said about this gas. It seems they have used illegal gas. Doing this is bad enough, they should have had something to heal people as soon as being able to enter the building.Quote:

This solution may have been the best between two evils, as most of the hostages are still alive, all member of special forces are, and all the terrorists are dead, but still ...

Simon, i disagree with your new picture. By doing this you're become the same as the man you want to discriminate. Don't you think so ?
Sylvain, I disagree with you. Would killing Hitler have made you the same as him, or would it have saved a lot of people, and may be the world from a big war?Quote:
Originally posted by Sylvain Simon, i disagree with your new picture. By doing this you're become the same as the man you want to discriminate. Don't you think so ?
It's not that I think that we should just go straight to kill Saddam Hussein, ..., but he is certainly a dangerous man.
On the other hand, what I don't like about Simon's picture is the blood on the Iraqi flag. The ideal thing would be to get rid of Saddam with as little trouble to Iraq people as possible. This way only we may have support from other countries from the region, and justify such an action. If it is another bloodshed, it will be the beginning for new ones again and again, until may be someone presses the Nuclear button
And by the way, Simon doesn't want to discriminate Saddam, just kill him ;).
That is because I had to cut away the original background and replace it with something else because otherwise I would have to fill in the gap that is created when Saddams head is removed. Therefore I removed the original background and pasted it in MSPaint over a background that I found should make clear that it is an Iraqi background. That is the reason and the only reason why I chose the flag, there was no other background to be found that made clear it is Iraqi within 50*50 pixels. I have nothing but sympathy for the Iraqi people.Quote:

I thought it would be funny but apparently some people can't appreciate anything. Shooting Saddam would nevertheless be an easy solution that makes no other casualties than a ruthless murderous dictator. The latter line indicates that I do want to discriminate him, because there are good reasons to. Anyway, since some people do not get or appreciate some humor I have already withdrawn it. It surprises me that a funny animated gif of killing someone without whom the world would be a lot better off causes negative reactions while my other animated gif of an atomic explosion, probably responsible for 1000's of death due to cancer, got none.
It's not the same thing. Making bombs explode must be fun: There are bombs exploding every where in most of the movies :D:DQuote:

Seeing Saddam's head explode awakes quite a happy feeling as well :D It is probably well deserved :p
Putting blood on Iraq's flag can make Iraqi unhappy about you while they should be unhappy about Saddam. And I'm not sure you needed the the Iraqi flag as a background to you gif. Most people know Saddam's face much better than the Iraqi flag. Actually, I thought it was Iraq's flag only because of Saddam's face in front of it. :o
As for the number of death: one Saddam is probably as bad as one atomic bomb.
May be next time you should send your avatar picture to an approval committee ;)
OK, my other idea was a similar one but then with bin Laden. Would that be approved?
You might have a different sense of humour, that's true ;) Honestly, I think it's bad taste, regardless whether it's hussein or bin laden.
Having an arsenal of weapons of mass destruction does not constitute a superpower.Quote:

On an unrelated note, President (oh, how I curse the title) Bush released a document - get this - which says:
Anyone who threatens the US's power will be destroyed
Anyone who attempts to become a nuclear power will be destroyed
Anyone who doesn't like the US will be destroyed
Anyone who attempts to check the US' power will be destroyed
and so on...
just two more years just two more years... then finally he will be gone.

kindergartner, for whom it is easy to offend others kids, because they cannot stick up for oneself.
And else one thing, once I had thought about why rich peoples try to climb to the politics. They have enough money, so what they haven't??? I do not think that most of them want to make life for ordinary people better. May be when you have enough money, you want to have else more and more something like power. For big countries I think it is analog situation to. USA must reckon to other countries and to their opinions.

A lot of people, and not just ennemies of the USA hope so. This choice belongs to American only. Will they get rid of Bush or elect him again?
Good point. Unfortunately, during any war (at least historically in this country), the president's approval rate has skyrocketed. If the US is at war during the 2004 elections (the next presidential election), then Bush has more of a chance of being reelected, because it is extremely difficult to change leadership in the middle of a war.Quote:

But... if we are not at war, which I and many others truly hope, then review this list of things Bush has done while in office, and you decide for yourself whether or not he has furthered this country's efforts of peace, prosperity, safety and freedom:
- Retreated from a 23 year old intercontinental ballistic missile treaty with the former Soviet Union (the treaty prohibited arms buildup)
- He has personally antagonized dozens of countries, most notably Iraq, Iran, and North Korea, the three countries named to Bush's exclusive "Axis of Evil" club
- He has spent all the surplus $$$ from past years and created a deficit
- Declared the US the single remaining superpower and vowed to destroy anyone who challenged his power
- Declared a war on "terrorism," a very abstract idea
- Completely contradicted the UN by going to war with Iraq despite the fact no more than a single country (England) supports him, and that's only because of political pressure, which is one of the main things the UN tries to prevent
And the list could go on.
For the sake of my own safety, and the safety of the nations of the world, I sincerely hope that American citizens who care vote Democratic next time around.
