Great job Brad Thanks!
Seems good today. Thanks.
Seems slower today, for some reason. Hopefully, it's not ads. Seems like resources are over-used. Going to reboot in a while, to see if that helps at all.
EDIT: Scrolling has been very slow for the past day or two, only on this site (all pages) Other JM sites work fine, though.
Ads are frozen.
Except for "If you can't stand the heat" one - just saw on the right.
IBM ad is chewing up my CPU AND it won't go away when you click on the "Expand forum" button. It is there and lagging my computer even as I type this.
System fan keeps turning on to HIGH each time an IBM ad comes up. It was cool and quiet for an hour, and now, it's back to major control!
:( Why is it back again?
Yesterday I even saw one Ad on the main Forums page. If you hover your mouse pointer over it, it covers the whole page and you have to click close button at the bottom of the page to close the ad. I guess it was from Intel.

There is still at least one IBM ad that is hanging around. I do know that while it hits the CPU initially, it does let go of it after a second or two. I have reported this internally as well.
As to the "click to close" - that is an issue with how the ad is done in Flash. Once the ad runs through its loop, it will disappear. I'll ask our Forum software guru to take a look at that and see if he can figure anything out. I'm guessing we won't be able to fix that.
Brad!
Thanks again Brad. :)
"If you can't stand the heat" IBM ad is still here. But now is stayed where it was even after I clicked "expand forum to full width" and no text was appearing in reply window when I tried to type.
Sometimes text cursor disappears btw, but it seems to be independant on ad.
Firefox 1.0.7, Windows XP.
One ad just slipped in that crashed Fx. It was in the User CP page, which I just refreshed a previous tab window.
Just crashed again. Only the one though, so that's a little better.
Same thing. Maybe the timing helps? I don't know what else to do about it.
3 hours later, the same thing! Seems that an ad isn't unloading. I come back, and hit refresh, which causes the error.
Just got online now.
Just saw the IBM ad again
IE crashed twice, and everything functions very slowly...
