Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
In just a few hours United will play at home against Liverpool. Let's see what Fergie can do.
Right now, Chelsea is 16 points clear at the top of the table. United is second with one point ahead of Liverpool who has 2 games less. I think any team would need a huge miracle to take the title away from Chelsea this season (again ;) ). Se what money and a good coach can do? ;)

It would mean that football is 100% money and nothing else. Especially when compared to Liverpool winning last year.
EDIT: and because I really don't like that team. :D No offense to their fans but it is really a dull team. They might be effective but they are not a pleasure to watch.

Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
Ha, Chelsea drew at home 1 - 1 against Charlton Athletic. :D Pointless anyway. ;)

Chelsea beaten by Boro 3-NILL... My god. it must be a frustrating run for the past few weeks for them...

Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
In Italy, Juventus has won again today. This time, it was 2-1 against Inter Milan.
This season, they have played 25 matches so far, won 21 of them, and lost only one.
In France, Lyon is still first, but they don't win anymore. Bordeaux (my favorite team this year, since Ricardo is the new coach) is second.

Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
dang!....Benfica defeated Liverpool 1-NILL:mad:...
but i'm happy to see Arsenal win 1-0 over Real Madrid...
my Italian team, AC Milan is doing well 1-1 away draw with Bayern Munchen...
now I would like to see Barca trash Chelsea at Stamford Bridge:D..

Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
I think Wenger tought Di Pescaro a football lesson yesterday. Well done Arsenal. However, I think Real will make it through.
Tonigh, ha. I bet on everything that Chelsea will win. However, I won't see the match. I'm going to see Munich (the movie).

Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
hand me everything cilu..you lost:p...
Maurinho didn't satisfied with the red card...hmm...what about his Arjen Roben?...
the difference here is, Reina acted like a normal real man by pushing Roben on the face....but Del Hono acting along side Messi like he's also injured:rolleyes:....
anyway...Juve lost to Werder Bremen:eek:....
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
Yes, a yellow card might have been wiser than a red card.
The rules should be changed:
1. Refereees should use the video.
2. Players should be expelled for 10 minutes like in hockey and rugby, instead of staying on the field with a yellow card, or being sent away for the rest of the game with a red card.
Poor Juventus! They lost in the last minutes of the game. But they shall win back when they play at home in a fortnight.
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
it's ok for a player that had been yellow carded can stay, I think...but for red card(like late tackle, etc), the suggestion is nice...other officers will review the video while the player is at the bench for a while....if he's guilty, then red card is comfirmed...if the mistake only deserved a yellow card, yellow card him then....
anyway, that suggestion had been suggested before but FIFA didn't agree with this....

Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
When I saw Barca's own goal I've remember the way Chelsea qualified a couple of years ago after 0-1 and 0-0 with VfB Stuttgart.

FIFA finds the funniest reasons for not applying this rule. I think footbal fans/players/refferees have a lof to learn from rugby.

I haven't seen the match. I was at the movies. But I am still confident. As a result I'm wearing my blue Chelsea blouse today. ;)

ha hah haha hahah hah ha h haha ha ha h aaha ha hahaa hah h aha h hahh hah ah ah ah hah hhah h hah ha ha ha ha hha !!!!!!!....
I feel like laughing at Chelsea's boss' face like he did to WBA's boss on the Saturday!!!:D:D
and walked away by not shaking hands with him like *who-needs-you-anyway*...
Barca deserved the win!!!!...and Juve's through to next round even though they left 1 goal behind at the 1st half...
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
Well.. you cannot really say that they deserved the win.. they played well and chelsea were not that good in the first half as they were in the second. Gudjohnson and Crespo should have started the game.. Drogba never looks like scoring to me.. I dont know why Jose plays him in the starting line.. may be because he thought barca are not very good defending the airy crosses... but still that was the wrong decision i think..
Moreover.. 2 away goals for barca in the first leg was always going to make it difficult for chelsea.. they didnt even create good chances.. second half was better...
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
Darn. What a pitty to see Barsa going through... Hope they will play against Juventus the next round.
Let's see what Real can do tonigh.

Did you hear about Rapid "The German Killer" Bucharest? They just beat 2 - 0 the 4th German team this season, Hamburg. Any one left? :D :p

Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
I think Wenger's crazy kids will upset a lot of big shots this year. Wonderful piece of football last night. And Henry is a real magician. I think they may repeat Liverpool's performance last year.

Yeah... I totally agree.. and have the same feeling... :)
They are totally concentrated on UCL .. and one other suprise that's probably coming our way is Benfica beating Barca... No one can take them lightly..

Actually, after 0 - 0 at Lisabona, I don't think Benfica has too many chances to qualify. If Arsenal qualifies, and I'm sure they will, I don't think Inter or Villiareal (the later stands bigger chances to qualify now after loosing 1 - 2 at Milano) can stop them from reaching the final. And that's so ironic. Wenger struggled for years to do that with a very experienced team. And now, with a bunch of kids he might succeed.
I was surprized to see no goals at Lyon.
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
yeah...Arsenal did the magic with those promising lads...I wonder what Viera felt at that moment:D....
but for the final, I'll go for AC Milan...my 2nd favourite europian club after Liverpool...
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
c'mon Milan...you can make it...
good start for Arsenal, btw...
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
So pitty that Arsenal scored only once last night. They treated the game in a very shallow way, just like in Torino. Hope it won't prove fatal in the end. Their defence is astonishing. 9 matches in UCL without a goal. And with kids of 18 and 19. Absolutely amazing. :thumb:
Milan is doomed. Barsa is in the final. I hope to see a Ronaldihno vs. Henry clash in Paris.
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
yeah!...Arsenal is better with those kids...
Milan will fight till the last blood...the ball is still in play:p...
lets make a bet cilu...name your bet:D...
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
Arsenal vs. Barcelona in the final.
2 - 1 for Barca at home.
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
Milan goes into the final with away goal...the score is 1-2 at Nou Camp...
Villareal 0-0 Arsenal...
Final: AC Milan 2-1 Arsenal....open up the champagne for the Milan wariors:D...
for our little bet, what's the loser should do?...:D
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
The crazy kids did it: Arsenal is in the final! :thumb: Though their game tonight was awful, it was clear they went to Villarreal to draw 0 - 0. Very luckly they did it. But that kind of game will be a disaster against Barca in the final. ;)
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
Lehman was the hero last night...brilliantly saved the penalty...
tonight is the "real final"....Nou Camp will be the Death Camp for Barca:D....
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
why oh why....
dang oh yam!!...
the "real final" had turned out to be the "real disaster"...it should be 0-1 at the 2nd half by Shevchenko ...
uhm...cilu...you'd wasted the golden opportuniy to bet with me:D...if not, you'd won the bet:p...
oh well...Arsenal vs Barca...I think I'll go for Barca...
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
I'll go for the crazy kids.
Henry vs. Ronaldinho shall be a very interesting encounter.
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
the triumph is for Barca!!!....
as the rain started to pour down more water, it bring along more misery to Arsenal...but I can't see Arsenal to have much eye to victory...the 2nd half is too dull for both sides...but anyway, good game...
//FA Cup Final was more thrill than this one:p...
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
What a sad day for football. :o
Arsenal played in 10 for 70 minutes and no one could notice that. But Henry's impossible misses sealed their fate. Arsenal strong defence anihilated Ronaldinho, but they missed Larsson out of the equation, enough for him to give Eto'o and Belleti the chance to score.
They can do it other time. They are a good young team. Great game Arsenal! :thumb:
-
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
the red card for Jehn Lehmann was a blow for both sides I think...Arsenal lost one player, Barca lost one goal...from what I saw, only Henry that really eager to win while his other team mates don't look so eager...I wonder why...heck! even Barca don't show a fighting spirit!!...
it's a good game nonetheless but lack of determination and winning spirit from both sides for a classy final like that...Barca deserved the win and Arsenal derserved some credits, IMO...Arsenal never won Champion Cup but maybe this will be a stepping stone for them:thumb:...
