Re: The "last one to post on this thread wins" Thread
That's great. I do alot of autocrosses myself as well as track racing. I won my class in our Porsche club region last year. I also enjoy rallying. I am good friends with Stefan Eichorner and Sep Haider. They have been instructors in several of my Audi racing schools I have taken in Germany and Austria. I am going to Leipzig next month for a Porsche Driving/Racing school. My racing is strictly on the club and regional levels (keeps it relatively cheap). I have a 944 prepared for racing, but it can also be driven on the street!

Re: The "last one to post on this thread wins" Thread
Hey driving an old cheap Porsche is better than driving a Trabant!

you're right! getting the cheap porsche (or whatever) is not the big problem... the problem is how to afford getting and keeping it ready to race, and last but NOT LEAST where to put that thing when living in a flat somewhere in town! the 167hp of my safrane are not bad for a stock-class car, the real problem is the 3000ccm, that force me to drive against FAST bmws, porsches and the like in autocross.
as i'm planning to race the motorcycle uphill, i will probably build up a bike with my brother, who has a big house with a big garage.
-
Re: The "last one to post on this thread wins" Thread
Partnering with ones brother is always a good idea. I have partnered with mine in this car to keep maintenance and track fees down. Storage is also a key issue, but I rent a cheap place, and we split that too.

partnering with a brother in motorcycle racing is especially good, when the brother has the motorcycle, enough storage room, and much knowledge because he's in the ktm racing construction department ;)
the bad thing is, that he doesn't have much sparetime and most of it is needed by his girlfriend....
-
Re: The "last one to post on this thread wins" Thread
Girls are the only things higher maintenance than race cars, and probably more expensive too ;) (At least the ones I've dated).

that's perfectly true.
as you were talking about racing schools, can you recommend one in austria? (or southern germany)
-
Re: The "last one to post on this thread wins" Thread
I would have to disagree.... But maybe you guys mean that you value girls more than expensive cars?? ;)

obviously, we value girls much more than expensive cars!
i wouldn't say that my girlfriend is expensive... she's not of that kind that needs to be fed with jewelry or clothes
-
Re: The "last one to post on this thread wins" Thread
Saw your site, very nice. Unfortunately I attract the girls that demand to be fed by jewelery, etc... The last one a Ukranian swimsuit model (really a vampire on my wallet!). I have to set my standards a little lower I think! Plus American girls around New York and Connecticut are just raised that way. European girls are much nicer. I have been toying the idea of moving to Munich for work. My friend has a company there.
Plus, the girls from around here are not as much fun and talk back (quite rudely at times) much more than a nice car. I did meet a good prospect on the train going home last night though!
-
Re: The "last one to post on this thread wins" Thread
trains and busses are a good place for attracting girls, aren't they?
unfortunately, i had to stop attracting about 6 and a half years ago... but i also stopped going by train or bus as i got a driving license.
the good thing with cars (and bikes) is, that they don't talk back. girls do, austrian as well. but cars and bikes can get expensive when they break down! if girls have some "breakdown", the health insurance pays :D
-
Re: The "last one to post on this thread wins" Thread
@Rob: Well, presented witht that situation (swimsuit model, girls who talk back quite rudely)... then yeah! Cars and bikes would be better. :D Hope all turns out well on that prospect you met on the train. ;)
/Btw, thanks about the feedback on the website. :)
@reset-leo: I concur. :D

The time has come to disclose the true nature of Spork as I promised.
Spork is nothing than a well planed deceipt to cloud people minds and prepare the day the dark side takes over the world. That day is tomorrow and now there is no reason to keep the Spork misdirection. The true power of the dark side will be shown to the world.

That depends on what one decide. Michael Jackson decided his is MJJ. So I was just making you understand that he is MJJ.
BTW Mathew Joy is my name. Nothing in between and no frills added. :p
cilu posted a post so I was not the winner then.
