By American standards, we wouldn't call it "war", or "bad food", or "racism", or "pollution"... but by international standards, yes, of course - everything.

To clarify: yes, America invented America. The European explorers (starting with the Norwegians, not the Spanish or Portugese) merely discovered what was already placed there by America as a big hoax. America invented itself and then it was found by Europe. An intercontinental hide-and-seek, if you please. And right now, Antarctica is hiding ;)

Well, go catching and reading book on software development (Vb expecially), spend time in CodeGuru VB Forum (yes, when not working. Or else I would not be here) - by the way, this is me:
Total Posts: 3319 (3.84 posts per day) - , play with playstation, play with Vb, go find some friends, speak of Vb, try some Api with rollerblades, switch to Com+ to understand my wife (who is not Com compliant), and so on...

I'm an obsessive person like most of the posters here. When I'm not coding I'm reading about coding (or one of my other fields), or working on math. I try to escape my obsessive mind sometimes through the standard ritualized means (dancing, beadwork, etc.) and love good movies (still trying to get a copy of the newest Almodovar film through various illicit connections, but may have to wait for the translators...), but these are rare. I sleep as possible, eat when I have the time (or money), but those aren't as essential as THE CODE.

Don't want nappies here, either. Wouldn't know what to do with the attached, crying little bugger. Though I'd love to teach one of them things...

What kind of math stuff

Mostly hypergeometric (normal and q-) relationships, combinatoric enumerations (of various types), with a little bit of algebraic geometry and topology tossed in if I find something interesting to work on. Basically, I just set up problems for myself that seem interesting and new and try to work them out. Most of it is just series manipulations (inversions, expansions in various basis sets, etc.) and applications of various transformation theorems on the spaces, so basically its another thing to obsessively manipulate and is very much like coding...

years, years, years ago, when I was too old to spend my time playing footbal (national sport here), I used to play chess, and I was a tournament player. Of course, one of the weakest...you know: I was old...;)

I used to play really mediocre tournament chess too. Nowadays, I play lots of speed chess at chessclub.com and fics.com.

I used to be a tournament player when i was 10-12 way back when I lived in California. There was this chess school there call Chess For Juniors (previously Chess Wizards) taught by this rather eccentric (not always in a good way) guy out of his house named Snyder (can't remember his first name) who was only a Master, I believe, at his highest (maybe IM? not sure). My highest rating was 1796 at that time, but I fell out of the tournament scene when my mom remarried and we moved. I used to play chess with my mom a lot, too...

Anyway, anyone remember (or still get) those monthly chess magazines from the rating board/company/whatever-it-is... It's been so long I can't even remember their name...
