The picture was actually taken in the EMP's upper floor where they have a recording studio type set up. It was not a part of the Microsoft Rock Band competition.

OIC. That makes a bit more sense! I did spend some time upstairs playing the keyboards for a while on the top floor.
Hi All!
I have been conspicuous in my silence, I guess - but only because I was away on an exciting vacation to New York, the Niagara Falls and Canada with no access to Internet.
(The absence of Internet for the first time in so many years was real bliss, I admit!).
The Microsoft MVP Summit was simply terrific. Meeting all those that made it for the first time and all those who were there again was a wonderful experience - one that made the long travel and the jet lag (I hate changing time zones... :D) worth the effort.
I hope all of you had a good and safe journey back home. I missed being a part of that CG rock-band: that photo is really cool (the scan job too ;) ).
Sometimes I wish these events were not localized to Redmond / Seattle alone - but, that might be termed "wishful thinking", at least for the moment. :)

I would probably visit the TechEd, but at Europe. That may happen in November? Microsoft had not officially announced the venue and date the last time I looked up.
(However, in the sentence quoted above I was referring to the Microsoft MVP Summit... )
My current workload will prevent me from taking any time off (including weekends, evenings, etc) during June, so unless something drastic happens, I will not be at TechEd Orlando.
But TechEd Europe may tie in very well for a serious "Businesss Trip!!"....
If anyone gets details, please post them to me!!!!
I'm back from Seattle since thursday, but hadn't found the time yet to go online, till now ;)
I really enjoyed the MVP Summit and will definitely attend next year again (work permitting of course).
And of course, it was great to finally meet some Codeguru fellows in real life. :)
Hi, Marc!
How did you like the Space Needle?
What else interesting did you see in Seattle?
The view from the top of the Space Needle was great, cold but great ;) Dinner on the rotating restaurant was also very good. The restaurant rotates 360° in around 55 minutes. Originally it only took 30 minutes, but too many people were getting sick while eating and so they slowed it down ;)
We also went to the Museum of Flight with lots of different planes. They had everything from old WWI planes to a real Concorde which you could even enter :)
The last day was pretty nice and then we did a small cruise of around 1,5 hour with nice views on the Seattle Skyline, harbor and distant mountains.
Other things were the Arboretum and Japanese Garden in Washington Park, shopping malls in South Seattle (since in Seattle itself, there are no real big shopping malls), Sience Museum and of course some more nice restaurants :D
Marc, you either missed the question or ignored it for good reason. ;) :D
Let me quote it again...Victor, you really don't expect Marc to spill the beans on a public forum like this one, do you? :DQuote:

I've said it before and I'll repeat it now, to see interesting things you have to come to Croatia, especially during the summer :p
At last I got the real answer to that question... :DQuote:

That was my part of the story... Others who were missing were probably missing 'coz they thought I would be there, and singing... :D
LOL!! So that's what happened. (Really funny about not having eggs to pelt... ROTFL). Hm, are you saying you're not a good singer? ;)Quote:

Definitely a bad screamer. It was a "rock-music" evening you see... :DQuote:

That was not meant to be a compliment to my singing skills either... I wanted to indicate that with screams that sound like songs, I don't make for a good performer in a rock-concert or karaoke. :D
(Errm... No offence meant to any prospective rock-music lover or Harley Davidson fan out there... :D )
You're cracking me up....   Ey, maybe you can post that video of you being catapulted... :D :D ;)Quote:

Because of absence of mind - no video at all.Quote:

(Victor, please clarify... )

During their actual performance, you mean? He was wearing it. :DQuote:

There's about 500 Low Res Images that are zipped in the member download site. I picked out a few of our members from the Day 1, Day 2, and the Into, with pictures from dinners, etc.
Ah, that is indeed a very nice shot Victor. :) It is a bit rare to catch Marius smiling at the camera. Good job. :thumb: He does look like this, huh? --> :D (with the wig, of course)Quote:

Victor's modus-operandi was to capture Marius after him having taken a couple of drinks. Alcohol is a relaxant... Relaxes facial muscles till they collapse into a smile. Then, he captured a photo... :D :DQuote:

Not actually... Have a look here: http://mariusbancila.ro/blog/?p=117. Actually, I think I'm smiling in most of the pictures there, at the summit.Quote:

I tell you what.
With the next MVP summit, I'll volunteer to play the drums, I can ;)
And, BTW, all you guys, did have fun, well done for being there, and for being MVPs, and for being such good people.
Well, I wanted to play the piano on stage but they wouldn't let me. Would have shown that guy a thing or two.
Next year ;)
