Is it still very cold in Belarus? It was in the news last week or the week before that it was the coldest for about 20 years in Russia.
Last week we have -25 : -20, and even near -30 at night. But this week is warm. Yersterday it was even near +5, today some colder. Ohh, I don't know about student Internats in Europe ( I saw Americans in films, and this is something weird ), but when we had very low temperature last 2 weeks, we had ice on the window on the side of the room and it was enough cold there :mad:

In Belgium last week they were complaining about the cold and all it got was -4°. I would like to have seen more snow. :( Currently it is rather warm around +5 degrees.
About the language: Belgium has three official languages, Dutch, French and German. The Dutch speaking part of Belgium is called Flanders (or "Vlaanderen" in Dutch) and is economically the strongest and wants independance as we transfer large amounts of money to the other part, as well as because the other part keeps acting annoying. The French speaking part of Belgium is called Wallony, has high unemployment rates and does very little about it, a small minority of them want to become part of France (rattachism), something the French have never been fond of. :D :p And last but not least we have a very small German speaking part in the east. This formerly German territory is a little 'gift' Belgium asked and received after WWII as compensation. If you ask me, it only complicates things and brings with it a lot of extra unnecessary expenses, such as making all official documents in German. The ratio French/Dutch speaking people is around 60/40.
And Brussels is the European capital we have the 'privilege' of housing a lot of Eurocrats to an unknown extent which also live in closed communities and who do not need to register themselves in the towns/villages where they live. These speak all kinds of languages.

Simon, what do you mean by acting annoying?. I don't know anything about Belgium (though I've been in Brujas for one day, I'm afraid that I can't remember the name of the city other than in Spanish), but I like talking about other countries and politics and such, and that sentence seems rather interesting to me. Please, could you give some details?.
About the Dutch language, I saw a film seven years ago that was in Dutch (I saw it in dutch subtitled in spanish), and its sound seemed very strong to me. It's not a bad thing, just the feeling I had, ok?. By the way, the film was called Manneken Pis, and it was very beautiful but very sad. :( :)

I'm sure you have heard of Belgian waffles before. Well in Belgium we have "waffle iron politics". This means if we want to have something done for which we need their agreement - make a waffle by means of saying - we also have to lay another waffle next to it as there is room for two in the iron. Xeon, I have a stupid job just until I finished my project and I find a job for an engineer. I work in a kind of help desk, so if nobody calls or sends e-mails, I don't have anything to do and I can surf the web, write my c++ programs, read a book or whatever i feel like doing, ok?. :p :p
