Post with pictures of Tom
I'm sure nobody cares but I actually did post two pictures of myself (not a squirrel) at the link above. Please read the post that goes with it if you look at the pics.
Tom
Wow... Those before / after photos are of the kinds that many I know would kill for! Terrific achievement! :thumb:
(BTW, did you forget to include the dog in the second 'after' photo? :) )
Great photo's guys!!
Tom, it would be nice to see a before and after pic of the dog too! :p :D
Kiran, it seem to have been chilly there in the hills..
Sidd, when you said "foiled in gold" - that's actually a very good description, it sounds beautiful, maybe it's just because I love poetry very much :)
Thanks, Sid. Yes, they do.. It was an awesome place.Quote:

Jup .. That's her .. This pic is still tame compared to how she lays in the cold of night. Under the blanket, press up against my chest, with her head in my neck...Quote:

In five days we went from mid to upper 60's (deg F) to 3-4 feet of snow...

On a Sunday I left Reno for Beale AFB in Marysville,CA (Had a class and time in the Altitude chamber Monday morning), about a 2.5 hour drive, normally...it took me 11.5 hours...here is why...between the weekend casino guest headed back to Oakland/San Francisco/Sacramento and the snow...it was exciting to say the least. This storm dropped 8ft in north Lake Tahoe, yes the pass was closed most of the next day and it was Tuesday morning before I could drive back over the pass...this is a picture from that driveQuote:

Being a Californian, I love snow ............. but anywhere else than near home :)
nice pictures, MrViggy :thumb: That is cool, beware of Florida though. You might just have more melted snow falling from the skies :D
Kirants,
Didn't you move from SD ??
Jim
Yep. My father lives right outside of Tampa, so I'm pretty familiar with the nice, humid weather down there! :DQuote:

Coincedentilly, I'm also posting some photo's I took on Wednesday morning. Tuesday evening, around 11 PM, it started snowing. This was the Very first time in my life I see snow falling, and actual snow :)
I took these photo's yesterday morning, at about 6 AM. It's not perfect photo's, I had to do some editing..
The first photo, shows our house's front, with the snow on the roofs
The second photo, shows on of our gates.
The third photo, just shows, how some of the trees looked
I hope you guys enjoy them :)
Here's me again. From left to right are...
Mr. Rizawn (MVP C#)
Ruri Plient (Micorsoft South Africa)
Vaqar Khamisani (Microsoft Pakistan)
And Meeeee..............
Me and myself...
And now for something completely different - me trying to prepare what-used-to-be-a-happy-lamb for supper.
I found this instruction video on the Internet illustrating how it was supposed to be done. The video lasted for 3 minutes - I spent 1 1/2 hour.
Haha!Quote:

As for you Hannes, I'm glad that you had a chance to see snow falling. Though this isn't probably a good news. Climate changes are affecting the entire planet.
Hi all,
I had a flight to the San Diego area a week ago and made arrangements to meet and have lunch with VladimirF, I forgot to take picture for this thread, oh well.
We had a very nice lunch and chatted about programming, MS and all the strange folk here on CG. :D
I found Vlad to be a very nice and intelligent person and well deserving of his new MVP status, looking forward to the next trip back to the area and maybe spending more time talking about programming and other worthless topics.
If anyone here gets into the Reno area I'll expect a PM before you arrive so we can meet and share a meal.
Mice pictures? You mean - they're too small, or what? ;) :DQuote:

Yes, but what were the effects? When the oceans will rise with 1 meter hundreds of millions will be affected.Quote:

Hm... So if I get you correctly, you're not saying that humans are responsible for those climate changes, or that these climate changes are a new phenomenon of our times? But only that, due to the degree of population, the effects of those climate changes (or actually, the part of the micro-cyle that we seem to be experiencing right now) will affect more people, right? In that case, I fully agree. :)Quote:

Likewise, as the ocean levels rise, people will gradually move away from what are today's coastlines... And as the current period of global warming progresses, populations will gradually start abandoning regions that are now hot and dry, but still habitable, and move towards regions which are now rather cold and hostile, but will become more fertile and livable in the future. :) In short - in the same way that humans (and other forms of life) have always adapted to their environment so far. I really see nothing dramatic or preoccupying about that.Quote:

I have no doubt that huma were the catalyst of the climate changes we are starting to see. I highlight, only starting to see. They will increase in the near future.Quote:

At macroscale (human kind level), yes, we will adapt. At microscale (small or medium groups of people), consequences will be dramatic.Quote:

That is right... I have no doubt that man who is taking billions of tons of oil that's under the earth and putting its contents into the athmosphere is guilty of global warming. On a universal level, it can be said that the earth is a tiny spec. The universe really doesn't care if the mass of oil was in liquid form under the earth's crust or in gaseous form in the athmosphere, but life on this planet definitely does!Quote:

I decided to note some points in my blog derived from personal experience. I think most car drivers can make a big difference by adjusting their style of driving, so - if you are driving a car, please read it!
Additionally, if I missed a point or two - let me know!

In my opinion, global warming and the environment on earth getting poisonous for humans (and the other species) is inevitable, one can only slow it down by a fraction of a bit but can not avoid it.... The only way would be to do something major, at the planet level.
And my foresight shows me humans finding ways to run away from earth in near future to avoid the problems that are coming.... It is also highly possible, that someday humans establish the adjustment needed to digest the poison in atmosphere.
Do you mean that the footprint left by cars, trucks, airplanes, and ships is tiny when compared to the damage done to the environment by the industries?Quote:

Individual car owners on the other hand are a huge number (hundreds of millions of them out there), are a relatively unregulated lot that are often unaware and apathetic too. So, there exists a huge scope to improve efficiencies. I dare say, most drivers would not even think of the fuel consumption of their cars had gasoline not got expensive!
A lot of people can still accept it when their car gives them only around 20 miles to the gallon. I really do think that this needs to change...
