Basically, the event horizon of a black hole is the point of no return (actually not a point but a sphere, the point in the centre of the black hole is the singularity, for rotating black holes the singularity is a circle), where even light cannot escape any more. Ever seen the movie "Event horizon"? It's not that good actually.Quote:

Actually I would've asked:
If a water-lily grows as big as a lake for 24 hours and grow twice every hour, how many hours would it take to fill half a lake.
(no points for this one. Only solarflare has the RIGHT to give points now)

I have a couple of riddles if someone wants to ask me a question....
Gabriel has been too fast, he has the correct answer!
P.S. I got the answers to the last 3 questions but I wasn't quick enough :( :(
I'll see how I do with yours, Gabriel :)
Well, the question by SeventhStar isn't exactly difficult, you do not even need to understand exponential growth, you just need to be there to answer. Maybe an idea: announce when you are going to post a next riddle (around 1/2 hours after solving the previous) so everybody who reads it keeps it in mind?Quote:

Sorry guys but it's solarflare's turn to ask! Ha is the last to have answewred a true question. But If you want we can make so:
There are two questions being asked right-now. And while wating for solarflare let's start with the paralel questioning.
Status:
score:
1. Simon and Gabriel - 2pts
2. Saturno, Elrond and me (SeventhStar) - 1pt
questions: solarflare has to ask!
John E has to ask (Let's give him a chance)
Is that okay with you?
Nope, wait for solarflare, it is his turn alright, not Gabriel.Quote:

Whatever you say, oh Great One! :D
I'm happy with that. I'm not trying to jump the queue.
Incidentally, SeventhStar's question wasn't quite fair because he said it grows twice every hour - not twice AS BIG every hour :(
Yes, but then you could also complain that lilies don't grow that fast, they are not bacteria you know. I guess this is a modified riddle where in the original bacteria (<->lilies) and a petri dish (<->lake) were used. Am I correct SeventhStar, oh lITTLE oNE? :D ;) :pQuote:

Yep that the original... but it has many versions...Quote:
