Well I've tried with IE and I haven't been able to do it yet. Granted I don't normally use the preview feature, so I'm sure I haven't tried as many times as you have, but I've tried it a dozen times or so in the past half hr.
Does it seem to happen equally with both long and short messages? Because I've tried it both ways, and so far nothing
Yes - the length of the message is immaterial. However, it's never happened to me with just a plain old text message. It tends to happen when I have a Quote or a Code segment (one of those things that appears in its own little box).
Yes, the preview bug still exists, as JohnE has mentioned.
When hitting Preview, the new page is only the background.... or IE just hangs.
There does seem to be an improvement lately with the site, so I was a little surprised to again come across the preview bug yesterday.
Aaaarrrgh!! CodeGuru seems to be back to its old self today - extremely slow & unreliable. Has anything changed?
Just bringing this back to the top because the "preview bug" seems to be back with a vengeance (I'm currently experiencing it at least 4 times per day).Quote:

Also, the longer it takes me to write the post, the more likely it is to get zapped by the preview bug. The actual length of the post is immaterial - but staying in the 'Reply to Thread' page for a long time makes it MUCH more likely to happen.
Also, it never happens (to me) on 2 consecutive posts, if that's of any help.
I noticed that too...I changed away from the WYSIWYG mode to one lower...helped.Quote:

Actually, I do it the other way around, James. I create the post in CG (so that I can add the various tags etc). When I'm finished I copy & paste it to Word or Wordpad, then I tentatively hit the "preview" button. At this point, IE usually disappears off my screen - but at least I've got a backup copy in my word processor!! It often takes me 2 goes to post anything...! :(
Was this the issue where you lose the post? Doesn't the Last Post link we added on the editor take care of reposting your information when you click it?Quote:
